NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Stephen Curry, Anthony Edwards & More Picks for Saturday, Jan. 3
Another day of basketball means another day of my best NBA player prop picks to help kick off the weekend on Saturday.
LeBron James began 2026 by dropping 31 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Donovan Mitchell joined him in celebration, adding 33 points and six rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers took down the Nikola Jokic-less Denver Nuggets.
There are several enticing matchups today, including the Philadelphia 76ers visiting the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks hosting the Houston Rockets.
Here are my best NBA player prop picks and bets for Saturday, Jan. 3.

Anthony Edwards over 3.5 threes (+108) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Edwards hasn’t exactly been consistent going over this line, cashing the under in three straight and in eight of his last 10. He also shot 37.6 percent from beyond the arc in December, below his season average of 39.6 percent.
Despite the recent regression, Ant Man is never hesitant to pull up from deep, and he still took 8.2 three-point attempts per game. The Miami Heat also play at the fastest pace in the league, meaning there will be more possessions and opportunities to play in transition, plus, the Heat ranked 28th in three-point percentage allowed over the last few weeks.

Kon Kneuppel over 3.5 threes (+116) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Kneuppel is having a stellar rookie season, averaging 19.5 points and 3.7 made threes per game on 43.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc. He beat this line in six of his last seven games and shot 46.2 percent from three-point land in December.
The Duke product went 5-12 from three the last time his Charlotte Hornets faced the Chicago Bulls after only going 2-9 in their first meeting. Chicago ranked 23rd in made threes allowed per game and 24th in three-point percentage allowed over their last 15 games, so I expect Kneuppel to add another over to his collection.

Cooper Flagg under 6.5 rebounds (-154) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Flagg, the first-overall pick in the NBA Draft, went under this line in three of his last four games, despite averaging 6.4 rebounds, and only had five rebounds both times he matched up with the Houston Rockets. He also played 34 and 36 minutes in those games, so increasing playing time isn’t a confounding variable here.
The Rockets are the best rebounding team in the league and allowed the fewest boards per game over the last few weeks. With all of the size that Houston has to throw at the glass, Flagg could easily be washed out and rendered ineffective in the glass, like he was in their previous meetings.

Stephen Curry under 28.5 points (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook
This pick is about non-basketball reasons just as it is, well, basketball reasons. It rubs me the wrong way that Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors would rest their starters, many of whom are aging veterans, for last night’s matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder, only to have them ready to play against the lowly Utah Jazz tonight.
I’m not sure what the psyche is for Curry, a two-time MVP and four-time NBA champion, who was held out of a heavyweight matchup just to face a young team that is struggling to learn its identity. Utah’s defense is miserable, and Curry scored 31 in their only previous matchup, but he went under this line in six of his last seven games, and I don’t feel that the last 24 hours were the right approach to inspiring him to score a bunch of points tonight.

Jalyen Brown over 6.5 rebounds (+116) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Brown collected 10 boards in his last game and cashed the over in seven of his last 10 games, immediately assigning real value to this line. Even better, he brought down 13 rebounds when the Boston Celtics faced the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 16.
The Clippers allowed the fifth-fewest boards per game over the last few weeks, but without Ivica Zubac available to command the defensive glass, Brown will have a great opportunity to fight for rebounds against LA’s wings. He also made it clear that he was frustrated to not have won December Player of the Month in the Eastern Conference, so he should be motivated to send a message.
