NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Victor Wembanyama, Cooper Flagg & More Picks for Saturday, Jan. 10
A fun weekend is in store with the NFL playoffs getting underway, and, of course, another batch of my best NBA player prop picks for Saturday.
Jalen Johnson came up big in his first game since the Atlanta Hawks traded Trae Young, dropping 29 points, nine rebounds, and six assists to beat the Denver Nuggets on the road. Kevin Durant also went for 30 points and 12 rebounds to move into 7th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, although his Houston Rockets fell to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Saturday’s schedule is headlined by the Boston Celtics hosting the San Antonio Spurs, as well as the Los Angeles Clippers paying a visit to the Detroit Pistons.
Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Saturday, Jan. 10.

Julius Randle over 1.5 threes (+102) at FanDuel Sportsbook
The Cleveland Cavaliers have done a horrible job of defending the three-point line recently, allowing the most average makes to their opponents in the entire league over the last 15 games. That applied to Randle and the Minnesota Timberwolves when they played a couple of days ago, as he went 3-7 from deep, and his team made 20 of their 38 triples (53 percent).
Amid the Cavaliers’ defensive decline, their interior defense has remained solid. I expect Randle to continue to navigate the perimeter and take advantage of their weakness out there, building on a season in which he made 1.6 three-pointers per game.

Cade Cunningham under 9.5 assists (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Don’t take this as a slight. Cunningham is having a phenomenal season, averaging 26.7 points, 9.7 assists, and 6.2 rebounds. However, recent trends, combined with the contextual details of this matchup, lead me to believe that he will go under.
The Clippers love to play in a deep drop with Ivica Zubac on the floor. That figures to be their game plan against the Pistons, given Jalen Duren’s prowess rolling to the rim. That means that there should be more space for Cunningham to navigate in the lane, leading to more shot attempts and fewer dishes to his teammates.

Victor Wembanyama over 9.5 rebounds (+116) at FanDuel Sportsbook
There’s a precedent in place with Wemby, who loves to put as much effort as he can into high-leverage matchups. Although this is just another regular-season showdown between two teams in opposite conferences, the Boston Celtics are hot, and Jaylen Brown has started to build serious MVP buzz.
Wembanyama went over this line in six of his last nine games, despite only playing about 23 minutes per game in December and January. The Celtics allowed the second-fewest rebounds per game over their last 15 outings, but Wemby has the size to render that irrelevant.

Cooper Flagg under 23.5 points (-122) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Flagg is figuring things out in the professional ranks, but let’s put the brakes on for just a moment. He and the Dallas Mavericks are facing the Chicago Bulls, who are 26th in points allowed per game, but he went under in five of eight games against the only four teams that allowed more points per game than Chicago.
To add to that, Flagg had gone under this line in five straight games until he scored 26 points against the Utah Jazz on Thursday. I get it, the Bulls aren’t very good, but this feels like we’re trying to microwave success for a player who is still only 19 years old.

Kon Kneuppel over 19.5 points (-108) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Here’s the thing: the Jazz are flat-out terrible. At least, they are on defense. They allowed the most points per game and rank dead last in defensive rating, which feels like pretty conclusive proof supporting that assertion.
Kneuppel, on the other hand, is good at offense—quite good! He split the over/under at three apiece over his last six games, but he’s still shooting the ball efficiently, and he had 24 points on 52.9 percent shooting when these teams met earlier this season in what was just Kneuppel’s seventh professional game.
