NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Victor Wembanyama, Jalen Brunson & More Picks for Wednesday, Jan. 28
Hump Day is here, and I’m back to share my favorite NBA player prop picks for the day’s action.
Alex Sarr dominated in the Washington Wizards’ win over the Portland Trail Blazers, dropping 29 points, 12 rebounds, and six blocks. Paul George also had one of his best games of the season, scoring 32 points to help the Philadelphia 76ers take down the Milwaukee Bucks.
Today’s schedule gets underway with a nationally-televised matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers, and it wraps up with the San Antonio Spurs meeting the Houston Texans for an in-state showdown.
Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Donovan Mitchell under 3.5 Threes (+108) at FanDuel Sportsbook
The Lakers have quietly improved their three-point defense, rising to 10th in three-pointers allowed over the last few weeks on 34.9 percent shooting. They have also put Marcus Smart into the starting lineup, giving them a strong perimeter defender to stick on the dangerous Mitchell.
The Cavs’ star man went over in Monday’s matchup with the Orlando Magic, but he also went under this line in three of his last five outings. He also took and made fewer threes and was the least efficient he’s been all year from three during January, which gives me the confidence to take his under.

Coby White Under 4.5 Assists (-102) at FanDuel Sportsbook
White went over this line in three of his last four games despite only averaging 4.7 assists per game for the season. Although the Indiana Pacers love to get up and down the court, they also don’t allow a ton of assists per game, which presents an interesting dilemma.
The Pacers are often susceptible to being beaten on dribble-drives, but they don’t let teams post gaudy assist totals. White dropped six dimes when they matched up on Dec. 5, but I am expecting him to fall victim to Indy’s strange but persistent trend.

Victor Wembanyama Under 10.5 Rebounds (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Wemby grabbed 10 rebounds when he faced the Rockets last Tuesday, but the bigger story was that he shot 5-21 from the field and was totally uncomfortable with Kevin Durant guarding him. With the size of the Rockets’ interior, I’m not sure how he will settle into a rhythm tonight.
The Rockets have been the best rebounding team in the NBA all year, and they ranked third in rebounds allowed per game over the last few weeks. Wemby went under with eight and 10 boards in two matchups with his in-state rival, and I’m looking for that pattern to hold.

Miles Bridges Under 1.5 Threes (+108) at FanDuel Sportsbook
While the Hornets have been in a nice rhythm and looked like a competent franchise, they face an interesting matchup in the Memphis Grizzlies. Their challengers allowed their opponents to take lots of threes, but they held them to just 33.9 percent shooting over the last few weeks of play.
Bridges made 2.2 threes per game, but he only shot 33.4 percent from long range. He also went under this line in five of his last six games and only played 19 minutes in his last outing (albeit in a blowout), and the Grizzlies have the length to disturb him on the perimeter.

Jalen Brunson Under 5.5 Assists (-102) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Brunson averaged 6.0 assists per game and followed a pattern of under/over for nine straight games. However, there’s a noticeable trend that emerged when he faced teams that didn’t allow many average assists.
Looking at the New York Knicks’ superstar’s matchups with the Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors (who he will face tonight), and the Phoenix Suns, all of which rank in the top five for assists allowed per game, Brunson went under in three of four outings. The Raptors have tons of size and length to close off the passing lanes for the smaller Brunson, which is why he could be great as a scorer, but probably won’t dominate as a facilitator.
