Despite being the favorites to win Game 1, the Minnesota Timberwolves dropped the first match of the series. Despite Dallas’ narrow margin of victory, the Timberwolves are still favored to win Game 2. Minnesota is desperate to level the series after losing home court advantage.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have posted a 64-30-0 record through the regular and postseason. That ranks them third in the league, with a 68.1% win percentage, a 6.6 margin of victory, and a +2.6 ATS +/-. Minnesota has won two of its last three games but has lost four of its last six going into this Game 2.
As Game 2 commences, the Mavericks will miss Maxi Kleber due to a shoulder injury, and Olivier-Maxence Prosper will be sidelined with an ankle issue. Luka Doncic continues to deal with ankle and knee concerns, listed as day-to-day. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves will be without Jaylen Clark due to an Achilles injury, and Mike Conley is marked questionable due to a similar Achilles concern for Game 2.

Luka Doncic performed one of his classic performances in Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Leading the way with his all-around play on the offensive end, Doncic’s brilliance helped the Mavericks to overcome the league’s best defense in Game 1.
Doncic has had the least productive playoff campaign of his career, posting 27.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 9.0 assists, and 2.8 threes per game on 42.7% from the field and 30.1% from the three-point range. However, in Game 1 of the West Finals against the Timberwolves, Doncic contributed 33 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and three threes on 46.2% shooting.
With a +100 to score 30+ points in Game 2, Doncic will be relied upon to carry the brunt of the scoring load for the Mavericks. He’s cleared 30 points in two of his last five games. After his scoring success in Game 1, Doncic projects to maintain his production despite Minnesota’s vaunted defense.
Bet on Luka Doncic to Score 30+ Points (+100) at FanDuel
Despite his confidence after Minnesota's Game 7 victory over the reigning champion Nuggets, Anthony Edwards could not back it up in Game 1 against Dallas. While he contributed in other areas, Edwards' scoring and scoring efficiency weren't up to standard.
Through the postseason, Anthony Edwards has averaged 28.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 3.2 threes per game on 49.6% from the field and 40.0% from three. In Game 1 against the Dallas Mavericks, Edwards put up 19 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and five threes on six of 16 shooting.
Edwards is a -165 to record 6+ assists on Friday night. He's cleared 6+ assists in three of his last five games. While Edwards isn't expected to be held down offensively for three straight games, he's found something special with his playmaking, which has been central to the Timberwolves' success.
Bet on Anthony Edwards 6+ Assists (-165) at FanDuel
