Ole Miss vs. Tulane Prediction, Odds & Picks: No Lane Kiffin for the Rebels
Ole Miss will play their first game without Lane Kiffin as head coach
Ole Miss beat Tulane 45-10 earlier in the season
Tulane beat North Texas in the American Conference Championship
Ole Miss is a heavy favorite over Tulane in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal, but there will be plenty of eyes on this contest. The Rebels were the talk of college football for weeks when Lane Kiffin decided to take his talents to LSU and leave Ole Miss hanging.
The Rebels will play their first game without their former head coach. There are questions about the offense, but the Rebels’ talent trumps Tulane in every area.

Ole Miss vs. Tulane My Pick
There are concerns about Ole Miss, especially on offense, because they don’t have many coaches from the previous staff. Once Kiffin departed for Louisiana, he took several offensive coaches, which will undoubtedly hurt the team.
Nevertheless, Ole Miss is more talented than Tulane in every area of the game. What they lack in coaching, they will make up for in talent. The Rebels won’t need an intensive offensive game plan given their skill set.
The Rebels' defense held Tulane to 10 points in September, and a repeat performance is expected. This should lead to the Rebels covering the 17.5-point spread on Saturday.

Ole Miss vs. Tulane Prediction
Ole Miss Preview
Ole Miss was one of the best teams in the country this season, and many people picked them to win the National Championship before Lane Kiffin left for LSU. Kiffin hasn’t poached many players yet, which he undoubtedly will, so Ole Miss will have their star players on the field in this game.
This game will be won on offense for Ole Miss. The Rebels’ offense is the most significant question mark heading into the game, but their talent is what makes the coaching situation manageable.
Senior quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, in his first year as the Rebels' starting quarterback, has been outstanding in 2025. He has thrown for 3016 yards with 18 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
He wasn’t a Heisman finalist, but he still finished fifth in QBR. Ole Miss’ only loss this season was to Georgia, and they had a double-digit lead in this game. The Rebels have one of the best teams in America, and it would be surprising if they didn’t win multiple games in the College Football Playoff.
Ole Miss should lean on the rushing attack early to make play calling easier. They have an outstanding sophomore running back in Kewan Lacy, who was third in the nation in carries this season. If Ole Miss controls the trenches, they’ll win the game.

Tulane Prediction
Junior quarterback Jake Retzlaff has carried Tulane all season. The issue for Tulane is that he can’t be trusted against Ole Miss because he played one of his worst games ever against them in September.
Retzlaff was 5-17 for 56 yards and no touchdowns against Ole Miss in their first meeting. While Retzlaff should be better, Tulane doesn’t have enough talent to compete with Ole Miss.
Look for Tulane to come out firing and trust their respected quarterback, because the best way to beat the Rebels is to score points.
Shazz Preston is the best receiver for Tulane. He caught 38 passes for 598 yards and four touchdowns. He will need an imposing game to keep Tulane alive.
