Where Minnesota shines is in the run game. Running back Mahomed Ibrahim had 304 carries this year for 1,604 yards and a mind-blowing 19 touchdowns. 

The Orange have played OK defensively this year, giving up just under 340 yards of offense per game. Still, they rank 66th in run defense, allowing 149 yards per game, though just 3.81 yards per carry. 

If Minnesota cannot get Ibrahim going in this one, they’re dead in the water. Still, we won’t bank on the Syracuse offense and quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson, who has just 50 attempts all season and is completing 44% of his passes.

A total of 42.5 in a college football game is low, but this game is one that we should see buck the trend of higher-scoring college games.

It’s pretty simple—Minnesota will run the ball well against a lowly Syracuse run defense, and we cannot trust the Orange to do much here offensively.
