Our first prop bet of the day will take us to New England for what will probably be a lopsided game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Boston Bruins. The Bruins are the NHL’s best team, and the Blue Jackets are going through a rebuild, so this game will be a blowout. This bet will involve the Blue Jackets’ Kirill Marchenko. If you have never heard of Kirill Marchenko, do not worry. Marchenko is a 22-year-old rookie left winger. He has played in 50 games this year on the Blue Jackets’ top line and put up decent numbers. He comes into this game with 20 goals and three assists. Marchenko is not afraid to shoot the puck but will not shoot three or more times today. Bet on the under.
Marchenko is coming off a five-shot game against the New York Rangers. That is encouraging for his career, but he is facing a tougher Bruins team today. The Bruins only allow 2.11 goals on 29.7 shots. Boston’s defense is the best in the NHL and has dominated the Blue Jackets this season. In two games, they have only allowed two goals and shut them out once. I do not see this matchup being any different. Boston will limit the Blue Jackets’ and Marchenko’s scoring, and Marchenko will finish with two or fewer shots. Bet on the under.

Our second bet will take us from Boston to Newark, New Jersey. The prop will come from the New York Rangers vs New Jersey Devils matchup. These teams play in the same division and are only within a couple of points of each other, so this game will be one of the best on slate today. This prop involves the Devils’ Dawson Mercer. Mercer is only 21 years old and one of the Devils’ promising young players. However, his play has been a little slower lately. He will finish without a point today. Bet on the under.
Mercer comes into this game with 23 goals and 28 assists. He is having a solid season but has been in a slump lately. In his previous six games, he only has one point, and in his previous ten games, he only has three points. It is worth that noting that two of those points have come against worse teams (the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens). Mercer will face an impressive Rangers team today. The Rangers have only given up six goals in their previous three games and are only allowing 2.68 goals in the season. Since the Rangers are so dominant defensively, and Mercer is going through a slump, there is no way he will finish with a point tonight. Play it safe, and bet on the under.

Our first two prop bets are coming from good games, but our third prop is coming from a less exciting matchup. This prop will involve the Senators’ Drake Batherson. Batherson is having an under-the-radar season for the Senators. This is partially because his play has not been excellent but also partially because the Senators are not winning and will miss the Playoffs. With that being said, Batherson is facing a weaker Philadelphia Flyers team today and will finish with an assist. Bet on the over.
Batherson has had an assist in each of his previous three games. This is not typical of the 24-year-old, but he is seeing the puck a little differently lately. He will go up against a Flyers squad that struggles on the defensive end tonight. The Flyers allow 3.25 goals per game. They will also be without defensemen Jakob Chychrun and Thomas Chabot in this matchup. That is unfortunate for Philadelphia but puts Batherson in a solid position to secure an assist. Bet on the over.
We are traveling all across North America for today’s prop bets and will go to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for our fourth one of the day. We will look at the Penguins Jason Zucker for this prop. Zucker may be a defenseman, but he is on of the better scoring ones in the NHL. He is unafraid to shoot and will finish with three or more shots. Bet on the over.
Zucker is averaging 2.66 shots per game this season. I realize that number is just above 2.5, but I would not worry. Zucker has put up three or more shots in his previous four games. In two of those games, the 31-year-old ended with five and six shots. He will facing a Nashville Predators’ team that allows 33.3 shots per game. Since they allow so many shots, I am confident Zucker will be able to finish with at least three. Bet on the over.
Our final prop bet of the day take us to Detroit, Michigan. Andrew Copp is the player we will be looking at for this prop. Copp is a decent player and has nine goals and 31 assists, but he will not finish with a point tonight. This is partially because he is not a consistent offensive contributor, but it is also partially because the Red Wings are facing the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Red Wings’ opponents, the Hurricanes, are one of the best defensive teams in the NHL and allow less than 2.6 goals per game. They faced the Red Wings earlier this season and shut them out. I do not expect them to shut out the Red Wings once again this game, but they will probably hold them to two goals or less. If that does happen, Copp will not have enough opportunities to get a point. Bet on the under.
