Best NHL Prop Bets 2024 05 27 Stuart Skinner

Positive regression swung towards the Stanley Cup favorite Stars way after outplaying the Oilers in a game one double overtime loss, now tying up the series after a 3-1 win in game two. The Stars now hit the road to battle it out in Edmonton in games three and four, looking to recapture their offensive momentum and apply pressure to the Oilers in the series with a road win. The Oilers have a chance to drastically swing momentum back towards their way, especially if their offense continues to generate high quality Shots on Goal.

As for where to wager on NHL player props, the DraftKings sportsbook has been the top choice for them as they offer a plethora of markets for us to choose from. If you have not signed up yet with the DraftKings sportsbook, you can receive a no sweat bet of up to $1,500 as well as a no sweat NBA SGP for the NBA Playoffs by simply creating an account. Be sure to collect as many sportsbooks as you can, giving you access to more sign up bonuses to boost your bankroll as well as give you the ability to line shop as NHL player prop odds can drastically vary between each sportsbook.

Dallas Stars vs. Edmonton Oilers - Game 3 Prop Bets (8:30 PM, EST)

Stuart Skinner Over 2.5 Goals Against (-120) at DraftKings

If you managed to read our NHL Best Bets piece before this one, then you would know that I lean towards an uptick in offense for game three of the Western Conference Finals. That leads to a bet on the full game over, as well as targeting Stuart Skinner in our first prop for this article. The Stars have been the more consistent source of offense between the two teams and will most likely be the more consistent factor of offense in this one as well.

Even though they lost in Expected Goals in game two, the Stars still clocked in over three Expected Goals as well as finding the back of the net three separate times. Their offense has hummed throughout both games of the series, consistently peppering high quality shots on goal against the lowly Stuart Skinner. Even low quality goals managed to sneak past Skinner as the Stars two non-empty netters clocked in an Expected Goal of 0.05 and 0.07.

Skinner has had a forgettable NHL Playoffs this year, ranking well below league average in most metrics for every goalie who qualified this season. Skinner comes into the matchup with a Save Percentage of .890 and a Goals Against per Game average of 2.65. Once benched in their series against the Canucks after a string of underwhelming performances, Skinner is a prime target to fade against as his defense gives him little support as well.

Evander Kane Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-115) at DraftKings

Evander Kane no-showed for a majority of the series against the Vancouver Canucks as the Canucks excel at limiting back end shot attempts, but Kane has made his presence known against the Dallas Stars as he continues to put himself in favorable scoring positions. So far in this series, Kane generated four Shots on Goal in game one and five Shots on Goal in game two.

His performance in game two was especially eye opening as Kane has done a masterful job at positioning himself to create high quality scoring chances. Kane finished their last contest with an Expected Goal mark of 1.18. With the Stars defense having to shift their focus towards the Oilers top heavy front line, that leaves the door for Kane and the other wings to exploit the gaps in coverage and continue to pepper in high quality Shots on Goal.
