Golden Knights Moneyline (-105)
In Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Florida Panthers have a chance to even the series at two games apiece. Meanwhile, the Vegas Golden Knights will look to take a 3-1 lead in this series. In a game where discipline could determine the outcome, the question will be which team comes out on top in that category in what should be another competitive contest in the state of Florida.
The Vegas Golden Knights held a 2-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Final in Game 3, and held a 2-1 lead in that game as well. But they could not hold onto that lead, as they gave up the final two goals of the game to see their lead shrink to 2-1. Now, the Golden Knights are one win away from a 3-1 series lead, or a loss away from this series being tied at two games apiece before it goes back to Las Vegas.
For the Golden Knights, one of the keys to this game is going to be continuing to take advantage of the power play. They scored two power play goals in Game 3, with Mark Stone and Jonathan Marchessault both notching goals with a man advantage in their last outing. With Florida struggling as much as they are on the power play, the Golden Knights could really set themselves apart with a successful night on the power play.
Also encouraging for Vegas is the fact that they did such a good job of preventing too many shots on goal against the Panthers. Even in a losing effort, Adin Hill only faced 23 shots on goal in Game 3. While Hill will need to do a better job of saving the shots he does face in Game 4, Vegas’ defense will be a key factor in this contest as well.
For the Florida Panthers, things looked bleak for much of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. They trailed 2-1 deep into the third period, and looked like they were about to fall behind 3-0 in the series. But the Panthers got a late equalizer at the end of the third period, and scored in overtime in order to get their first win of this series to give themselves a lifeline in this final series of the year.
For the Panthers, the key to this game is going to be finding some discipline, after surviving a game where they committed a ton of penalties that were not intelligent in Game 3. Stacking up penalty minutes again would give the Knights more power play chances, which they took full advantage of last game. That is something the Panthers cannot afford if they want to even this series at two games apiece.
Also set to impact this game is the sense of desperation following the Panthers in this contest. They know that a loss here would make this a 3-1 series in the favor of the Golden Knights, which would likely be a hole that they cannot dig themselves out of. As a result, expect the Panthers to fight at every turn to try and even this series and give themselves a better chance to lift the cup.
