It was a fun week for the Wise Kracks Sports Betting Podcast. Not only were Bill and Jon joined by poker pro and reality TV personality Tiffany Michelle, but they also had a chance to break down a long list of current sports betting events including the upcoming Covington-Masvidal UFC fight plus MLB’s decision to delay its Opening Day and what it will mean for baseball betting.
Check out the full episode for a look at this week in sports from the inside of the Las Vegas betting scene. Learn from one of the most successful professional sports bettors in the business and get exclusive insights, stories and picks for free every single week.
Tiffany is a poker professional, reality TV show contestant, host, and producer. As we learned today, Tiffany actually got her start in poker partly thanks to our host Jon Orlando.
“I wish this show was x-rated so I could tell some Jon Orlando stories that even he probably doesn’t remember,” said Tiffany. “We could talk about that,” laughed Bill.
During the interview Tiffany gives excellent insight into what it’s like being a poker professional. She even let us know at one point of her career, she took a job as the assistant for her friend and fellow poker pro Maria Ho who also joined Wise Kracks.
“Thank god I wised up, but I got to live my dream of being a secretary,” Said Tiffany.
“I think Covington probably gets this one done,” stated Jon talking about the UFC’s main event this Saturday.
Jorge Masvidal will take on Colby Covington in a non-title main event. After years of squabbling over social media, the former training partners turned public enemies will finally fight. It’s a bout that UFC fans and bettors are all excited about.
Both fighters were at American Top Team and had become friends but that turned sour once both fighters were put into potential title contention. Covington is a polarizing figure who sometimes says many things that cross the line. Masvidal is also quite vocal but seems to be more of the people’s champion in this heated rivalry.
Jon will be in the arena to see this fight go down. Currently, the betting favorite is Colby Covington, but Jorge is a very lethal opponent, and a single punch completely alters the fight. Colby is more known as a pressure-volume fighter, and betting on a side in this fight becomes difficult because it is more likely that Colby will win a decision as opposed to a stoppage.
Major League Baseball announced that the opening day will now be delayed as a result of the current status of the lockout. many fans and bill are concerned by this because of the intense damage of the previous MLB lockout.
An interesting note was how many books are voiding futures bets placed on the Major League Baseball season due to the games played total likely going below 162.
This time of year is usually quite good for the start of baseball and filling the gap we have in the North American sports schedule. this year we’re just going to have to rely on March madness. and next week will be our matching March madness preview show.
