On Saturday, April 22nd, the Houston Gamblers and the New Orleans Breakers will go toe-to-toe in the second match-up of the 2023 season for both organizations. The Gamblers are coming off a 29-13 loss to Michigan Panthers. The Houston Gamblers coughed up the ball to the Panthers’ defense on four different occasions in the loss.
Josh Love sealed the game with a 34-yard touchdown to put the Panthers up by 15 points with just about a minute and a half left in the fourth quarter. The New Orleans Breakers opened up the 2023 season with a 22-15 win over the Pittsburgh Maulers.
The Breakers’ season opener took place at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama as once again, the New Orleans Breakers will be one of many teams that will not play in their home markets this season.

Here are step-by-step instructions to take advantage of the FanDuel sign-up promo:
This offer is most beneficial to bettors who plan to wager at least $1,000 over time and have the cash to make an initial deposit of this size. Any bonus funds you receive are subject to a playthrough requirement. Obviously, this promotion doesn’t net you any extra winnings if you win your first bet.
If you win your No Sweat First Bet, it offers less in pure gain than a deposit match bonus. However, the FanDuel No Sweat First Bet is an excellent opportunity to make a selection at longer odds than you might normally consider.
New Head Coach, Curtis Johnson will be leading the Houston Gamblers on the sidelines this season, taking the place of former head coach Kevin Sumlin. The Houston Gamblers ended the 2022 season with a win in Birmingham, Alabama, over the New Orleans Breakers.
Houston will look to pick up where they left off and bounce back from their 3-7 regular season record from last year. The Houston gamblers will lean on an advantage in speed to pick up wins and they have one of the fastest quarterbacks in the league to do so in Kenji Bahar.
Last season, Bahar completed 61% of his passes for a total gain of 541 yards and pitched in 87 additional yards on the ground. He threw two touchdown passes as well as two interceptions on his way to earning the starting spot in the 2023 season. Houston will be relying on Bahar and returning tailback Mark Thompson to lead the ship this Saturday.
The New Orleans Breakers ended their debut season in the USFL with a 6-4 record which put them comfortably in second place in the USFL south division. After a near-perfect inaugural regular season, the breakers came up short of the Birmingham Stallions in the semifinals with a 31-17 loss.
Head coach Larry Fedora has exited as new head coach John DeFilippo enters along with two newly acquired quarterbacks McLeod Bethel-Thompson and Aqeel Glass. Bethel-Thompson and coach DeFilippo have a connection from time spent together in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The New Orleans Breakers took a 22-15 win over the Pittsburgh Maulers in their 2023 season opener. Bethel-Thompson threw for 303 passing yards with 23 completed passes in the win. The Breakers have one of the best wideouts in the league in Jonathan Adams and Johnnie Dixon and they will look to fire from all cylinders in the Saturday matchup against the Houston Gamblers.

I am a huge sports fan; locally, many know me as the guy who does the PA for our high school football team on Friday nights. Having grown up in Michigan, I am a sports fan of all the Detroit teams, and at the college level, I love Michigan State sports.
