WNBA Player Props and Predictions: Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark Highlight Today’s Picks

Portland Fire vs. Indiana Fever

• Caitlin Clark, Over 8.5 Assists at +104

Clark is averaging nine per game at this early stage of the season and has gone over this total in her last three games, with ten in each of her last two. She has been a great facilitator since coming into the league and has a career average of 8.6 assists per game.

Against a Portland team that opponents have recorded a league high 25 per game, she should absolutely go over this total.

• Caitlin Clark, Over 21.5 Points at -122

Clark is leading the Fever with 24.3 points per game so far this season, a dominant pace that has her soaring to the top of the latest WNBA MVP odds. But she has gone over this number only twice, once vs. Los Angeles (24 points) and again vs. Washington (32 Points). She had 20 in the season opener vs. Dallas and 21 on Sunday vs. Seattle.

Opponents have been hitting over half of their shots against the Fire and averaging 94 points per game. Against such a defense, Clark should have no problem going over this total.

Dallas Wings vs. Chicago Sky

• Gabriela Jaquez, Over 12.5 Points at -108

Jacquez is averaging 12.5 points per game this season and is coming off her personal best, 20 points (vs. Minnesota). She started out a little slow, recording 10 and 7 points in her first two games, but had 13 and 20 in her last two. With Rickea Jackson out for the season, the Sky will need someone to step up.

As long as she gets 10+ shot attempts like she did on Sunday, she’ll go over this total against a suspect Dallas defense.

• Paige Bueckers, Under 19.5 Points at -106

Bueckers is averaging 20 points per game after scoring 20, 15, 27, and 18 in the first four games of the season for Dallas. Losing Rickea Jackson will impact the Sky, but more so on the offensive end. If anything, without Jackson’s scoring, Chicago may decide to buckle down on defense.

If the pattern holds, Bueckers is due for another solid game. But against a solid Sky defense, I don’t see it happening this time.

Connecticut Sun vs. Seattle Storm

• Brittney Griner, Over 5.5 Rebounds at -118

Griner has been averaging 5.7 rebounds per game so far this season, with 5, 6, and 6 in her first three. Against a struggling Seattle team that is allowing a league-high 36.8 rebounds a game to opponents, she has an excellent chance of going over this total.

• Natisha Hiedeman, Over 10.5 Points at -130

Hiedeman is averaging 10.3 points per game but has been a bit erratic. She scored just six points in the season opener vs. Golden State, bounced back with 11 against the Sun, dropped to just five points against Toronto, before finishing with 19 against the Fever on Sunday.

Her questionable nights came against solid defensive teams (Golden State and Toronto); her good nights came against teams with more lax defenses (Connecticut and Indiana). She has already gone over this number against the Sun once. 

There is no reason to think she will have any trouble doing so again.
