Everyone's a winner at DraftKings Sportsbook with their new deal of bet $5 to win $250 in prizes during any March Madness matchup.
Turning $5 to $250 is the same as winning 50x—that’s exactly what the doctor ordered in North Carolina, which launched online sports betting just over a week and a half ago. And on top of that, customers can double their money if Duke scores one or more points in their Friday matchup against Vermont.
Anyone who is interested in redeeming DraftKings’ special offer for North Carolina bettors can do so just by following a few basic steps that we listed below. Here’s how you can guarantee $250 in prizes at DraftKings during March Madness.

Timing is everything. North Carolina launched casino sports betting in 2019 but did not expand its market to the online world until March 11, 2024, just a week before March Madness. While the long layover frustrated many, DraftKings’ offer has gone a long way toward easing the pain.
North Carolina is one of 38 states (along with Washington D.C.) that offer legal sports betting during March Madness, a tournament that the American Gaming Association estimated will produce $2.72 billion in legal bets.
As the tournament continues after a wild opening day, here’s how interested customers can claim DraftKings’ $250 promo:

Note that the new-user deal is only available for first-time DraftKings customers who are 21 or older and who are in North Carolina.
Bonus bets can be thought of as vouchers that can only be redeemed at DraftKings sportsbook. These bets cannot be withdrawn for cash or used at another sportsbook but can be used to fund bets placed in eligible markets at DraftKings all the way up until expiration.
Customers outside of North Carolina can still redeem a new-user bonus for a $150 value.
New customers aren’t the only ones who will be rewarded at DraftKings. Returning customers are entitled to a variety of promotions and deals, including parlay insurance, odds boosts, referral bonuses, and much more.
DraftKings is legal in all of the following states: AZ, CO, CT, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, TN, VT, VA, WV, WY.
That’s not the only deal that’s available though. The second deal, special to North Carolina bettors, is a double-up if Duke scores a single point against Vermont. The maximum bet amount varies and will be available until the Blue Devils tip-off. Claim this offer below!

The March Madness Round of 64 got off to a bang on Thursday. No. 1 North Carolina cruised past No. 16 Wagner 90-62, while another contender, No. 3 Kentucky, suffered an unexpected loss to No. 14 Oakland, 80-76.
No. 11 NC State joined UNC in the second round by beating No. 6 Texas Tech 80-67 as they picked up right where they left off in the ACC Tournament.
One of the biggest surprises of the day was No. 7 Dayton’s comeback against No. 10 Nevada. The Flyers were down by 17 points with just over seven minutes remaining but still found a way to win and move on.
Looking at Friday’s games, top contenders UConn, Purdue, and Houston are all in action alongside Duke.
The Blue Devils’ matchup with Vermont gets underway at 7:10 p.m. ET in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, which means anyone who is interested in claiming the offer for their game must do so before dinner time.
DraftKings lists Duke as a 12-point favorite and -800 on the moneyline.
