The basketball-fueled state of North Carolina legalized sports betting before the start of the ACC conference tournament and now its residents get to wager on March Madness with the field of 64 tipping off on Thursday. In-state fans have plenty of teams to root for as North Carolina, Duke, and North Carolina State all look to make a deep run.

Not only does March Madness kick off this Thursday, but sportsbooks in the state of North Carolina are giving out new user sign up promotions ahead of the best time of the year. The FanDuel Sportsbook is one of the sportsbooks offering sign up offer, giving new users in the state of North Carolina $250 in bonus bets for those who sign up and make an initial wager of at least $5.

No promo code is required to acquire the bonus bets. It’s as simple as signing up and making an initial wager of at least $5. After making the initial wager, FanDuel will credit your account with $250 in bonus bets. The bonus bets are a lump sum, meaning that they can be spread out across multiple markets or used all on one bet. They can not be immediately withdrawn and must be used before the listed expiration date.

For those who live in other legal sports betting states and have not signed up yet with the FanDuel Sportsbook, they are offering a different form of a new user bonus to give you a head start before tournament play. For new users in other legal states who sign up with the FanDuel sportsbook, they can receive up to $150 in bonus bets after completing the registration process and making an initial wager of at least $5. That initial wager can be used on the NC State vs. Texas Tech matchup as they battle it out with the winner moving on to the round of 32.

#11 North Carolina State vs #6 Texas Tech Prediction

North Carolina State shocked the nation with their ACC Conference Championship win, comfortably upsetting the North Carolina Tar Heels and cashing their +10000 pre-conference tourney tickets. They now look to continue their hot stretch against the Texas Tech Red Raiders as a +5.5 underdog backed behind their potent offense.

Texas Tech managed to win their first game in the Big 12 tournament against a stingy BYU squad but were unable to thwart the Houston Cougars in the next round. Like North Carolina State, the Red Raiders success is backed off by the production of their offense. An oddity for the program as they used to mirror Houston’s scheme of being an elite defense with a slow methodical offensive pace.

While the tempo has stayed relatively the same, Texas Tech has beefed up their cast of shooters. At any point in the contest, the Red Raiders will have a knockdown shooter who benefits from open coverage as opposing defenders are forced to respect their interior scoring presence as well. North Carolina State will need to match this scoring pace should they want to generate another upset with plenty of firepower to do so, setting up for a potential high-scoring thriller.
