Every professional soccer player in the world will insist that collective prizes are what matter most, but individual prizes are also fiercely contested.

While the Bundesliga title will remain the priority for the players listed below, each of them would also love to finish as the top scorer in the 2021/22 campaign. We did not get much of a contest last season, but things could be different this time round…

Bundesliga 2021/22 Top Scorer Odds

Odds taken on 13 September, 2021 from DraftKings Sportsbook

Bundesliga 2021/22 Top Scorer Odds
Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) -175
Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund) +225
Andre Silva (Eintracht Frankfurt) +1000
Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich) +1600
Donyell Malen (Borussia Dortmund) +1600
Patrik Schick (Bayer Leverkusen) +2000
Wout Weghorst (Wolfsburg) +2200
Andre Kramaric (Hoffenheim) +2500
Serge Gnabry (Bayern Munich) +3500
Sasa Kalajdzic (Stuttgart) +4000

Robert Lewandowski is the runaway favorite to finish as the Bundesliga’s top scorer in 2021/22. That should not come as a surprise. The Poland international has a stunning track record and is the spearhead of a Bayern Munich team that is comfortably the strongest in Germany. If Lewandowski stays fit for the whole campaign, it is hard to look past him finishing as this season’s chief goal-getter.

Should the Bayern striker miss out on the prize, Erling Haaland is the best bet. He has scored 57 goals in 59 appearances in all competitions since joining Borussia Dortmund in January 2020. Twenty-seven of those strikes came in the Bundesliga last term, a tally that would have been sufficient to finish as top scorer in many other seasons. At odds of +225, it is worth a flutter on Haaland coming out on top in 2020/21.

Who Was the Highest Goalscorer in the Bundesliga 2020/21?

Robert Lewandowski was the top scorer in the Bundesliga in the 2020/21 campaign. He scored 41 goals for Bayern Munich, setting a new single-season record in German soccer. It was a magnificent achievement that further cemented Lewandowski’s status as a Bundesliga legend.

Andre Silva of Eintracht Frankfurt finished second with 28 goals, followed by Erling Haaland with 27. Andrej Kramaric and Wout Weghorst each found the back of the net 20 times.

Who is the All-Time Bundesliga Top Scorer?

Player and Clubs Goals
Gerd Muller (Bayern Munich) 365
Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) 277
Klaus Fischer (Schalke, Koln, 1860 Munich, Bochum) 268
Jupp Heynckes (Borussia Monchengladbach, Hannover) 220
Manfred Burgsmuller (Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen, Essen, Nurnberg) 213
Claudio Pizarro (Werder Bremen, Bayern Munich, Koln) 197
Ulf Kirsten (Bayer Leverkusen) 181
Stefan Kuntz (Kaiserslautern, Bochum, Uerdingen, Arminia Bielfeld) 179
Dieter Muller (Koln, Stuttgart, Saarbrucken, Offenbach) 177
Klaus Allofs (Koln, Fortuna Dusseldorf, Werder Bremen) 177

Gerd Muller is the leading goalscorer in Bundesliga history. The German remains one of the most prolific strikers of all time, with his 365 goals coming in just 427 Bundesliga matches. Muller was a penalty-box predator who came alive whenever he was in sight of goal. His record of 68 goals in 62 games for West Germany is even more impressive.

Going into the 2021/22 season, Robert Lewandowski is 88 goals behind Muller. His 277 goals have been scored in 350 Bundesliga outings, and he may well break the 300-goal barrier in the upcoming campaign.

Klaus Fischer is the player with the most Bundesliga goals who never played for Bayern Munich, followed by Jupp Heynckes (a future Bayern manager) and Manfred Burgsmuller, who both also notched more than 200 goals.

Claudio Pizarro, the former Peru international, scored 197 goals in the Bundesliga, making him the division’s highest-scoring non-European. Pizarro also played for Bayern and Koln, but he was at his prolific best in a Werder Bremen shirt – he had five different spells with die Werderaner.
