MLB Prop Bets June 20

Marcus Stroman Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+105 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

Marcus Stroman has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season. He is 8-4 with a 2.45 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. The wing has achieved a level that we haven’t seen from him in an extended period of time. Stroman isn’t an elite strikeout pitcher as he relies on keeping the ball down in the zone to win games. However, we like his strikeout total tonight which is set at 4.5 for plus money against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Stroman pitched against Pittsburgh in his last start on June 15 and went six innings while allowing just four hits.

Stroman also hit his strikeout total in this game, recording five punchouts. Stroman’s lack of velocity is a concern in this spot, but it’s hard to go against the pitcher as he has hit this total in four of his past five games. The juice being +105 makes this a market too good to resist.

Gerrit Cole Under 8.5 Strikeouts (-150 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

Gerrit Cole hasn’t been elite this season, but he is constantly putting together quality starts for the Yankees. Cole is coming off his third straight quality start where he went six innings and allowed just one run in the Subway Series. Cole relies on power, which means he records a high number of strikeouts in every outing. However, this stat has fluctuated a lot as of late.

Cole has only gone over 8.5 strikeouts once in his past five starts. Cole has also only hit this number three times on the season. We fully expect him to approach this strikeout total as the Mariners have one of the worst offenses in baseball.

They have some stars at the top of their lineup, but this group has drastically underperformed this season. They’re fourth in MLB in team strikeouts with 682 on the season. However, Cole’s hit rate is low enough to take a chance on betting the under on Tuesday night.

Kutter Crawford Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-124 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

Kutter Crawford is still getting adjusted to pitching in MLB. His innings haven’t been consistent, but the Red Sox are starting to stretch his workload. He is coming off a four inning start against the Rockies, where he wasn’t great, but he had a ton of movement on his pitches. Crawford went over his strikeout total at 4.5, reaching five punchouts on the night. His total is listed at 4.5 for Tuesday night as well against the Twins. Crawford’s innings on the mound is a concern, especially with Minnesota’s power, but the Twins also have the highest strikeout rate in the league.

Minnesota has struck out 753 times in 2023, which is 57 more than the Giants, who sit in second place. This is not a good honor to have, and it makes Crawford’s strikeout prop very appealing tonight.

Paul Goldschmidt 2+ Total Bases (-125 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

Paul Goldschmidt isn’t putting together an MVP season in 2023, but he has been a valuable part of the Cardinals offense. He has led the underperforming St. Louis team throughout the year, and we see him having a big night on Tuesday. Goldschmidt is batting .289 with 13 homers and an .883 OPS. His OPS is the 14th best in baseball.

Goldschmidt’s total bases prop is set at 2+ for -125 against the Nationals. He hit this prop yesterday with ease, with a 2 for 5 night that included a homer. Goldschmidt will face MacKenzie Gore tonight, and the left hander is 3-5 with a 3.74 and a 1.38 WHIP. Gore will make a mistake and Goldschmidt will be there to take advantage of the error.
