The ALCS and NLCS are both occurring on Thursday. The Dodgers will battle the Brewers in the early window and the Blue Jays will take on the Mariners at night.

Brewers vs. Dodgers - TBD vs. Tyler Glasnow (6:08 PM, EST)

Under 0.5 Run (-145) at Hard Rock Sportsbook

A scoreless first inning between the Brewers and Dodgers feels like the most likely outcome given the quality of the arms on the mound and the circumstances of this matchup.

Tyler Glasnow will throw for Los Angeles, and he’s very consistent in the first inning. His ability to attack the zone early with a power fastball and wipeout slider keeps hitters guessing, which leads to outs.

Glasnow’s command has been sharp, and he’s limited early contact effectively, rarely allowing base runners in the opening frame. He has been one of the Dodgers best pitchers in the postseason.

Milwaukee has quietly developed one of the league’s most underrated pitching staffs, and their opener or starter, will be facing a Dodgers lineup that swings early. Milwaukee should use this information and adjust by throwing nothing to hit early in counts.

Defensively, both teams are disciplined and efficient, with above-average fielding percentages. Milwaukee is in this position because of how they have played defense in 2025.

Given Glasnow’s composure and the Brewers’ clean defense, I’m taking the NRFI. The Dodgers offense has been deadly, and this is concerning, but the NRFI is worth taking in this spot.

Mariners vs. Blue Jays - Luis Castillo vs. Max Scherzer (8:35 PM, EST)

Luis Castillo for Seattle and Max Scherzer for Toronto will start in a pivotal Game 4. Both pitchers are veterans, and their big game experience should lead to a NRFI.

Luis Castillo has been Seattle’s ace once again in 2025, and he can set his team up to win the series in Game 5.

He usually comes out with an aggressive arsenal where he can get ahead in counts. Castillo’s first innings tend to be quick and clean because he’s aggressive with strike one and doesn’t allow hitters to extend at-bats.

On the other side, Max Scherzer brings an elite level of competitiveness. Even late in his career, he’s maintained elite command and a deep understanding of hitters’ tendencies.

A veteran pitcher can win just off their knowledge and this is where Scherzer enters the mix.

Both teams play solid defense behind their starters, with the Mariners boasting one of baseball’s more reliable infields. The defense and pitching combination should trump the powerful offenses on Thursday.

Luis Castillo hasn’t allowed a run in the playoffs. He pitched twice against the Tigers in the ALDS and heonly allowed one hit in a combined 5.3 innings.

One of the appearances came out of relief, so he is used to high pressure innings. If he starts with three outs in the top of the first, Scherzer should finish the job in the bottom half.
