Best NRFI Bets Today: The Red Sox Need Ranger Suarez to Step Up
Ranger Suarez has been one of the biggest disappointments in baseball this season. The Red Sox brought him to the team thinking he would be a reliable number two, but this hasn’t been the case.
I’m taking a NRFI in Red Sox vs Cardinals as well as two others on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Red Sox vs. Cardinals - Ranger Suárez vs. Kyle Leahy (7:15 PM EST)
Under 0.5 Run (-130) at FanDuel Sportsbook
The Boston Red Sox face the St. Louis Cardinals with Ranger Suarez going up against Kyle Leahy.
Suarez is usually one of the better ground-ball pitchers in the league, relying on a sinker-heavy approach that limits hard contact. This hasn’t been the case in 2026 as he has been one of the worst arms in the league.
He was bad at the World Baseball Classic, and this continued into the season. The pitcher has an 8.64 ERA and a 1.92 WHIP this season. He has allowed two homers in 8.1 innings.
Leahy may not have the same name recognition, but he has shown the ability to attack hitters and avoid free passes. He hasn’t been great in the stat sheet, but Boston’s offense is in limbo.
Boston’s lineup has some pop, but it hasn’t shown it thus far in 2026. I doubt anything changes on Saturday in St. Louis.

Giants vs. Orioles - Logan Webb vs. Chris Bassitt (7:15 PM EST)
Under 0.5 Run (-150) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Logan Webb is one of the most reliable pitchers in baseball when it comes to inducing weak contact. His heavy sinker generates ground balls at an elite rate, making it difficult for hitters to string together quality at-bats early in games.
He hasn’t been as good on the road as he has at home in his career. Nevertheless, he’s still one of the elite pitchers in the sport, and should have success against the Orioles’ offense in the first inning.
Chris Bassitt counters with a deep arsenal and strong command, allowing him to keep hitters off balance. He doesn’t do anything exceptionally well, but he defines consistency.
Both teams feature capable offenses, but neither is immune to slow starts. This should be a low-scoring game with a fair price on the NRFI.

Astros vs. Mariners - Lance McCullers Jr. vs. Luis Castillo (9:40 PM EST)
Under 0.5 Run (-155) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Lance McCullers will throw against Luis Castillo to close the Saturday night slate. McCullers and Castillo are both great strikeout pitchers, and this should make things tough on each offense.
McCullers’ arsenal is anchored by his sharp breaking ball that can generate swings and misses in key moments. His ability to miss bats is critical in the first inning, where escaping even a minor jam is essential.
Castillo is one of the premier arms in the American League, featuring a fastball with life and a devastating changeup. He is used to shutting down the Astros, and this should be no different.
Seattle’s offense has been one of the worst in the sport this season. If this continues, the first inning should be scoreless.
