Best NRFI Bets Today April 25

Colorado Rockies vs Cleveland Guardians - Ryan Feltner (R) vs Peyton Battenfield (R)

Under 0.5 Runs - COL vs CLE (-113 at FanDuel SportsBook)

Our first NRFI bet of the day will come from the Colorado Rockies vs Cleveland Guardians matchup. Both of these teams have losing records, so this will not be the most exciting game of the day. With that being said, both teams are sending solid pitchers to the mound, so no first-inning runs will be scored. Bet on the NRFI.

The Rockies will send Ryan Feltner to the mound. Feltner has a concerningly high ERA of 6.16 but is coming off a strong start against the Philadelphia Phillies. The righty only gave up three hits in 5⅔ innings of scoreless ball. The Phillies have an impressive lineup, so Feltner’s strong outing is indicative of how well he can pitch. The 26-year-old will face a significantly easier Guardians lineup today. Feltner will see Steven Kwan, Jose Ramirez, and Amed Rosario in the first inning. Ramirez is hitting well and has 16 RBIs, but the other two are not hitting that well. Feltner may give up a hit, but he will not give up a run.

Peyton Battenfield will take the hill for the Guardians. Battenfield made his MLB debut on April 12 and threw 4⅔ innings against the New York Yankees. He gave up one earned run on four hits. Battenfield followed that up with a six-inning performance against the Detroit Tigers. This was also an impressive performance. The righty walked three and gave up three hits but only allowed one run. Battenfield may be a rookie, but he is off to a hot start. He will likely face Charlie Blackmon, Jurickson Profar, Kris Bryant, and C.J.Cron in the first inning. Bryant is off to a hot start and Cront is hitting well, but this is not a particularly impressive group of hitters overall. Battenfield will get out of the inning without allowing a run. Bet on the NRFI.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Pittsburgh Pirates - Noah Syndergaard (R) vs Johan Oviedo (R)

Under 0.5 Runs - LAA vs PIT (-118 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

Our second NRFI bet of the day will take us to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This should be one of the more exciting games of the day. The Dodgers are off to a slower start than expected but are beginning to turn the corner. When they fully return to form, they will be very difficult to beat. On the other side, the Pirates have been the surprise team of the season and lead the NL Central with their 16-7 record. Even though both teams are playing well, I would not expect either team to score in the first inning. Bet on the NRFI.

Noah Syndergaard is getting the nod for the Dodgers. Syndergaard has a 4.91 ERA, but that number is a little deceptive. Syndergaard had a poor start against the Arizona Diamondbacks a couple of weeks ago and has not had enough starts to see his ERA is yet to drop to acceptable levels. The man affectionately known as “Thor” may not be the All-Star he once was, but he is still a tough pitcher to hit on. The righty threw six innings in his previous start against the New York Mets and only gave up two runs on five hits. He is not the Dodgers’ ace but will pitch well today. Syndergaard will face Ke’Bryan Hayes, Andrew McCutchen, and Carlos Santana in the first inning. McCutchen and Santana are hitting well, but Syndergaard will be able to pitch around this group and get out of the first inning scoreless.

Johan Oviedo will get the nod for the Pirates. Oviedo is yet to pitch a full season in the Major Leagues but is putting together a strong performance to start the season. Oviedo has a 2-1 record with a 2.22 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in four starts. He gave up four earned runs in his first start of the season but has only given up two earned runs in three starts since then. The 25-year-old may be on his way to an impressive year and will not give up a run in the first inning. Bet on the NRFI.

Kansas City Royals vs Arizona Diamondbacks - Brady Singer (R) vs  (R) Ryne Nelson

Over 0.5 Runs - KC vs ARI (-128 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

Our third NRFI bet of the day will come from the Kansas City Royals vs Arizona Diamondbacks matchup. This should be a one-sided game, as the Royals are struggling, and the Diamondbacks are putting together a strong start to the season. Neither team is sending their best pitcher to the mound, so a first inning run will be scored. Bet on the YRFI.

Brady Singer will take the mound for the Royals. Singer had a promising season last year but has had a tough start to 2023. He comes into this game with a 1-2 record and an 8.14 ERA. He gave up five earned runs to the Texas Rangers in his previous start and has given up 18 earned runs in his past three starts. Singer will improve and get better but is slumping at the moment. The righty will face a tough few Diamondbacks in the first inning in Geraldo Perdomo, Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, and possibly Lourdes Gurriel Jr. All of these players are hitting well and can hit off Singer. Singer will give up a first inning run.

Ryne Nelson will get the start for the Diamondbacks. Nelson has had a better start to the season than Singer but is not in his best form right now. He gave up five earned runs in his previous start and has a 4.91 ERA. The Nevada native is still very young and has not spent much time in the Major Leagues. He will hit his stride with time but may give up a first inning run today. The Royals do not have the best lineup, but they have a few strong hitters in there. Bet on the YRFI.
