Best MLB Home Run Predictions Today: Why Vlad Glad’s Power Slump Will End Tonight

Vladimir Guerrero Jr has yet to find his power stroke for Toronto this season, but his bat is starting to heat up. While his slow start has caused him to slide in the Home Run Leader odds, it is worth noting he is coming off a 2025 campaign in which his power numbers dipped after posting 30+ home runs in the previous four seasons. Given his eight home runs over eight playoff games last year, we aren’t worried about Guerrero’s current power drought.

Below, we’ll share why we like the slugger’s chances to go deep tonight, along with two other home run predictions we love.

Home Run Picks for Friday, May 29

There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the players we’re locked in on. 

Eugeinio Suarez Anytime Home Run (+360) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Suarez may no longer be the star he once was, but he remains one of the best power hitters in the league. The 34-year-old smacked 49 home runs last season and has surpassed the 30 mark in four of his previous five seasons.

The Reds’ veteran third baseman hasn’t flashed that power early on in the season, but he has already missed a month on the IL. The slugger returned last weekend and has posted two doubles with a .286 average, making us believe an inevitable power surge is right around the corner.

One big reason why we are backing Suarez today is Braves’ starter Grant Holmes (3-2, 3.78 ERA, 1.30 WHIP). The righty has been solid for Atlanta this season, but has allowed four home runs over his last 20 innings. That includes two in his last start, which ended up being the only two runs he’d allow.

Surarz has the edge on Holmes over their six meetings, hitting a home run in three.

The Blue Jays appear to finally be turning things around, despite Vladimir Guerrero Jr’s continued power outage. The first baseman has been floundering in May, batting .205 with just one home run. However, things have begun to turn around over the last week, as he is batting .462 and posting a 1.112 OPS, showing he is settling back in at the plate.

Guerrero’s fast-rising batting average indicates his power is close to returning, and we believe the stage is set for him to end that slump tonight.

We also love this bet due to Trevor Rogers (2-6, 6.96 ERA, 1.62 WHIP) on the mound for Baltimore. The lefty has never been a reliable starter, but things have been especially ugly for him in May. Over three starts this month, he’s pitched just 12 ⅓ innings with a 12.41 ERA and three home runs allowed. The O’s lost all three games, with their opponents totaling 26 runs. 

While Rodgers isn’t known for giving up home runs, his recent play shows he is a very different version of himself this month. That explains the uptick in home runs and why we are backing Guerrero to take him deep tonight.

Dillon Dingler Anytime Home Run (+520) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Tigers’ catcher may not be a household name, but Dingler is already on pace to shatter his totals from a solid 2025 rookie campaign. While his average isn’t good, the righty has flashed some serious and consistent power with ten home runs over his first 50 games. 

During his rookie season, the catcher enjoyed his time playing in Rate Field. In 18 at-bats, Dingler registered two home runs and posted a 1.177 OPS. While the White Sox are a far better team in 2026, the pitcher they’ll have on the mound to start tonight has been far worse.

Erick Fedde (0-5, 5.47 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) will be starting for Chicago tonight. The 33-year-old has been getting worse as the season has gone on and is 0-2 with a 10.13 ERA over 16 innings in May. A big reason for those struggles has been the long ball, allowing seven home runs during that span.  

Once Fedde exits the game, he’ll turn things over to one of the worst bullpens in baseball. They’ve posted a 4.73 this season, allowing 31 home runs.
