We have some fantastic home run prop bets on the board for today, but we believe that two of the best involve young catchers. The Marlins’ Liam Hicks and the Rockies’ Hunter Goodman are having breakout campaigns, quickly becoming two of the most dangerous catchers in the league.
We’ll share why we like both to go deep today, along with one other home run prediction for Thursday’s slate of games.

There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the three players we’re locked in on.
After debuting in the MLB for the Marlins last season, Hicks is breaking out in 2026. The catcher leads the team with 12 home runs and 48 RBIs, leading the Marlins in both while already surpassing his totals from 2025. While consistency remains an issue for the 27-year-old, two factors are setting the stage for a big game from him on Thursday.
The first is the catcher’s play at home. He leads the team with seven home runs and 29 RBIs when playing at LoanDepot Park. That’s where this game will be played, giving us another reason to back Hicks tonight.
The second factor is Diamondbacks pitcher Merrill Kelly (5-4, 5.71 ERA, 1.49 WHIP). The veteran righty is struggling badly in 2026, and he’s surrendering home runs at an unprecedented pace. He allowed three in his last start and two the outing before. We expect another multi-home run game today.
Hicks went 0-4 in his only meeting against Kelly, but he’ll face a very different version of the pitcher tonight. Considering Hicks has hit 11 of his 12 home runs against righties, we love his chance to do so again today.

Don’t look now, but Colorado catcher Hunter Goodman has the sixth-most home runs in baseball. He’s been especially great to start June, with five home runs and a 1.384 OPS over his first seven games. Of those seven games, he only failed to homer in two.
Goodman’s hot bat is bad news for Cubs’ starter Edward Cabrera (3-3, 4.99 ERA, 1.42 WHIP). The former Marlin has been struggling in his first year with Chicago and has been especially bad over his last four outings. He’s allowed eight home runs and 20 earned runs over 22 ⅓ innings, with three of those long balls coming in his last start.
With this game being played at Coors Field, we believe Goodman is the best home run prop bet on the board for today.

PCA is playing like a man possessed over the last couple of weeks. The young Cubs star broke out of an ugly slump to remind us why he was an NL MVP candidate in 2025. Over his last nine games, the outfielder is batting .421 with five home runs.
We are taking this bet despite Ryan Feltner (2-1, 4.22 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) on the mound for the Rockies. While he’s beatable, the righty doesn’t give up many home runs, even at Coors Field. However, he is far from being an ace, meaning a superstar with a hot bat is well worth betting on with Feltner on the mound.
PCA has been surprisingly bad at Coors Field, but that won’t last. With prime home run conditions set for today’s game, we expect the streaking star to continue his revenge tour around the MLB.
