Home Run Picks for Thursday, July 2

There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the three players we’re locked in on. 

Liam Hicks Anytime Home Run (+480) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Marlins’ breakout catcher has seen his home run stroke cool off in June, but he still finished with a .313 average. That shows he’s seeing the ball well, even though he isn’t sending as many over the wall. With today’s game taking place in hitter-friendly Coors Field, we love Hicks’ chances to start July off with a bang.

Another big reason to back Hicks today is Rockies’ starter Michael Lorenzen (3-9, 6.83 ERA, 1.79 WHIP). The veteran righty has not enjoyed his first season with Colorado, as his stats show. While he has sprinkled in several impressive starts, he’s had even more ugly ones. As expected, he’s been at his worst when at home, going 1-4 with an 8.20 ERA and 3.64 OBA. 

Lorenzen has also struggled to strike out left-handed hitters such as Hicks. They are batting .380 with nine home runs over 179 at-bats.

Hicks faced the 34-year-old back on March 28 in Miami, hitting a home run in their only meeting.

The Tigers first baseman is once again struggling to hit for average, but he remains on pace to hit 30+ home runs for the second consecutive season. While his struggles at the plate and brutal .316 OBP lead us to typically avoid him when placing home run props, we believe tonight’s matchups make him one of the best value bets on the board. 

Tork and the Tigers will be up against Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi (8-7, 3.95 ERA, 1.16 WHIP). While the veteran has an excellent WHIP, his ERA is being inflated by struggles to keep the ball in the park. He’s already allowed 17, putting him on pace to surpass his career high of 23 easily. It seems age may finally be catching up with the 26-year-old, and we’re hoping to cash in on that today.

While Eovaldi is coming off three good starts, his season stats signal he is due for another ugly outing. 

It’s also worth mentioning that the streaky Tork has been on a hot streak. Over his last five games, he’s 7-for-17 with two home runs and seven RBIs.

Andy Pages Anytime Home Run (+330) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Pages may not get the same respect as some of LA’s superstars, but he has made great strides in each of his three MLB seasons. The outfielder is batting .271 this season, and his 16 home runs are the third-most on a loaded Dodgers’ roster. He also has the highest WAR on the season at 4.2.

While Pages is often a solid home run prop bet, there is extra reason to back him today. That’s because Randy Vasquez (6-6, 4.44 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) will be on the mound for the Padres. The 27-year-old had a great first two months of the season, but fell apart in a big way last month. He finished June going 1-3 with a 7.84 ERA, allowing five home runs over 20 ⅔ innings pitched. 

Vasquez is coming off an impressive 2025 campaign, but has shown no signs of returning to that form. Over his last two starts, the righty has allowed ten runs and two home runs over just 6 ⅔ innings.

Pages has also had plenty of success against Vasquez in the past, going 4-for-10 with a pair of long balls.
