Angels vs. Mariners - Walbert Urena vs. Bryce Miller (9:40 PM EST)

Seattle has been one of the better teams to back in the NRFI market, and Bryce Miller is a big reason why.

Under 0.5 Run (-145) at DraftKings

Miller has been outstanding through 45.2 innings, posting a 1.97 ERA and an elite 0.72 WHIP. He has allowed just 28 hits while striking out 54 batters and issuing only five walks all season. When pitchers limit baserunners at that rate, they're always worth backing in the first inning.

Walbert Urena has quietly put together a respectable campaign for the Angels. He enters with a 3.14 ERA across 71.2 innings while giving up only five home runs all season. 

Although the walks have climbed at times, he's done a solid job limiting hard contact and keeping games under control early.

With Miller dealing and Urena capable of matching him for one inning, this is one of the strongest NRFI opportunities on the board.

Tigers vs. Rangers - Framber Valdez vs. Nathan Eovaldi (8:05 PM EST)

Two proven veterans meet in Texas in what projects to be an early low-scoring battle.

Framber Valdez has logged nearly 96 innings this season while continuing to generate weak contact with his heavy sinker. Even though his ERA sits just over four, he's shown an ability to settle in quickly and avoid major damage through the first trip in the lineup.

Nathan Eovaldi has once again been one of the Rangers' most dependable starters. He owns a 3.95 ERA with 101 strikeouts across 100.1 innings and continues to attack hitters with excellent command. 

His consistency from start to start makes him a reliable option in NRFI markets. Both offenses have dangerous bats, but the experience on the mound gives this matchup plenty of value to stay scoreless after one.

Reds vs. Brewers - Chase Burns vs. Jacob Misiorowski (2:10 PM EST)

This is the premier pitching matchup of Thursday's slate. If you want to see over 100 mph fastballs, this is the game you need to watch.

Chase Burns has continued his outstanding rookie campaign, compiling a 2.36 ERA and 1.08 WHIP while striking out 112 batters in 91.2 innings. His ability to overpower hitters has made him one of the most reliable young arms in baseball.

Milwaukee counters with Jacob Misiorowski, who has been even more dominant. The hard-throwing right-hander owns a remarkable 1.45 ERA and 0.77 WHIP across 99 innings. 

He's surrendered only 49 hits while piling up an incredible 146 strikeouts, giving opposing hitters almost no room for error.

With two electric starters capable of taking over a game from the opening pitch, this is my favorite NRFI play of the day.

• Marlins vs. Rockies - TBD vs. Michael Lorenzen: This is the best spot to target a YRFI on Thursday. Michael Lorenzen has struggled throughout the season, carrying a 6.83 ERA and a 1.79 WHIP, and pitching in Colorado only adds to the challenge.
