Jalen Brunson Points Under 26.5 (-115) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The New York Knicks knew they’d have a tough start to the season, as they drew four straight Eastern Conference playoff contenders to open the season. While the team has struggled on the defensive side of the ball, Jalen Brunson has led the Knicks in scoring – as they currently have six players with double-digit averages.

In three appearances, Brunson is averaging 23.0 points, 4.7 assists, and 1.3 threes per game on 47.4% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range. In his last game, a loss to the Cavaliers, Brunson put up 21 points, seven assists, and three rebounds while failing to convert on any of his four three-point attempts.

Last season, Brunson faced the Miami Heat three times and hit under 26.5 points twice. The Heat are masters of controlling the pace, and with the Knicks’ newfound depth in production, Brunson has more benefit in creating for others than scoring himself. That’s not to say his priorities are off, but Brunson’s scoring informs his playmaking, which has more capable options than ever.

Jimmy Butler Assists Over 4.5 (-140) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Jimmy Butler is an all-around threat on the offensive side of the ball, the Heat offense's focal point in his own way. Helping his Heat to a 2-1 record after a difficult opening night to the 2024-25 season, Butler has bounced back and put in two All-Star-worthy opponents. The quality of Miami’s opposition has increased, though, and Butler must show that he can still produce against some of the NBA’s best.

In three games this season, Butler is averaging 17.3 points, 6.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals on 44.1% shooting from the field. In his last game, a win over the Pistons, Butler put up 23 points, seven assists, and four steals to lead his team to victory. When he faces the Knicks, he’ll take on one of the NBA’s best groups of wing defenders.

Last season, Butler cleared 4.5 assists against the New York Knicks in one of their three meetings and 30 of his 60 appearances overall. The Knicks have one of the worst team defenses through three games, allowing 27.3 assists per game (26th of 30). Butler, as the playmaking hub of the Heat, should find success initiating his team’s offense.

Karl-Anthony Towns Points Under 19.5 (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Since joining the New York Knicks, Karl-Anthony Towns hasn’t needed to be the offense's focal point. He’s maintained his scoring efficiency, but its volume has allowed his teammates to stay involved in the offense. However, given New York’s defensive issues, they could use a more aggressive Towns in this matchup.

In three appearances this season, Towns is averaging 15.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 1.3 threes on 50.0% from the field and 66.7% from three. In his last game, a loss to the Cavaliers, Towns put up 13 points, ten rebounds, and one three in 32 minutes of play. Towns has been relatively modest on offense to open the season, and when he faces the Miami Heat, he’ll have another tough go of it.

In two games against the Heat last season, Towns put up 15.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.0 threes on 56.0% from the field and 25.0% from beyond the arc. Hitting under 19.5 in both meetings last season while matching up with Bam Adebayo, expect another sub-average night from Towns in the scoring column.

Tyler Herro Points Over 17.5 (-120) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Like the rest of his team, Tyle Herro struggled in Miami’s opening game of the season. He’s worked his way back into scoring form over the last two games, and he’ll be put to the test as Miami faces another playoff hopeful. A willing three-point shooter, Herro isn’t shy on the offensive side of the ball.

In three appearances this season, Herro is averaging 18.3 points, 4.7 assists, and 2.7 threes per game on 42.2% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range. Herro only appeared in one game against the Knicks last season, but he cleared 17.5 points despite shooting just 38.9% from the field. New York’s defense is intimidating on the surface, but they’re not entirely in sync to open the season.

Herro only played 42 games last season, and he’s gotten off to a strong start this year. Herro, a playmaker and scorer, will be tested against Jalen Brunson and the Knicks. Their wing defenders will surely key in on him on Wednesday night, so keep an eye on his ability to find his shot early.
