Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Indiana Pacers Betting Pick

The Oklahoma City Thunder are one win from their first-ever NBA Championship, but they’ll have to find victory on the Indiana Pacers’ home court. Pacers star man Tyrese Haliburton has been diagnosed with an injury, giving the Thunder an advantage, whether or not he plays. Boasting a lineup at full-strength, including the outstanding Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams, who is coming off a 40-point night, the Thunder look too strong for the Pacers on Thursday night.

Oklahoma City Thunder Preview

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s ultimate goal is within reach when Game 6 tips off on Thursday night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams have brought their Thunder within one win of the NBA Championship. When Game 6 tips off, the Thunder will try and build off a Game 5 performance that has many believing this will be the curtain closer to the 2024-25 NBA season.

The Thunder were strong to open Game 5, winning the first quarter by ten points, and this time, they held onto their lead. On the night, they scored 120 points with 14 made threes, shooting 42.6% from the field and 43.8% from three-point range. Notably, the Thunder got back on track defensively, collecting 15 steals and 12 blocks while forcing 23 turnovers in Game 5.

Jalen Williams led the way in Game 6, and all eyes are on him for Game 7 after posting 40 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three made threes to bring the Thunder within a game of the NBA Championship. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has maintained his spectacular play, coming off a 31-point, 10-assist night. Notably, the Thunder’s bench play was strong in Game 5, combining for 27 points from Caruso, Wiggins, and Wallace.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are the top team in the NBA against the spread, posting a 63-37-4 ATS Record. They have a 63.0% cover percentage, a +11.9 margin of victory, and a +3.0 ATS +/- this season. In Game 5, the Thunder won outright (-360), covered the spread (-9.0), and hit over the total (223.0).

  • Oklahoma City Thunder Injury Report: (G) Nikola Topic (Knee) remains out and will potentially make a return next season.

Indiana Pacers Preview

Trailing for the first time in the series, the Indiana Pacers have their backs against the wall. A loss would end their season, and all hope of winning their first NBA Championship. Tyrese Haliburton’s status for Game 6 is unknown, but the Pacers have repeatedly proven that they can’t be underestimated as the underdog.

The Pacers have succeeded with timely play and an unmatched offensive switch that has helped them overcome multiple deficits this season. However, they’ve looked weaker than usual in recent games, putting up 109 points in Game 5, 45.1% from the field, and 36/7% from the three-point range. Their biggest issue lies in their ball security after committing 23 turnovers in Game 5, a mark they must improve upon if they hope to force a Game 7.

When Game 6 comes around, the Indiana Pacers will rely heavily upon East Finals MVP Pascal Siakam, who led the way in Game 5 with 28 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three made threes. Tyrese Haliburton is coming off his worst performance of the series, putting up four points, seven rebounds, and six rebounds while failing to hit a field goal. It’s next man up for the Pacers, and they’ll count on gritty veteran TJ McConnell to help force Game 7 after scoring 18 points off the bench last time out.

The Indiana Pacers used the postseason to become one of the best teams against the spread this season, posting a 49-51-3 ATS Record, fifth in the NBA. They have a 49.0% cover percentage, a +2.2 margin of victory, and a +0.9 ATS +/- this season. Indiana has failed to cover the spread in back-to-back games, and in Game 5, they only hit over the total (223.0).

  • Indiana Pacers Injury Report: (G) Tyrese Haliburton (Calf) is a Game Time Decision for Game 6 after suffering a calf strain. (C) Isaiah Jackson (Achilles) remains out for the remainder of the season, while (F) Jarace Walker (Ankle) has been ruled out for Game 6 and is yet to appear in this series.
