Pittsburgh Steelers ML (-125) at BetMGM Sportsbook

The Steelers have been wildly inconsistent all season, but they returned to form last week against the AFC South-leading Colts. Their defense was especially impressive, recording five sacks, five TFLs, 13 PDs, six QB hits, and six turnovers. We know the unit can’t deliver this level of play each week, but we believe they are set up to do so again on Sunday Night Football.

The Chargers' offense took another big hit when offensive tackle Joe Alt learned he would need season-ending surgery for an ankle injury. His absence will be a massive blow for the pass game, as the Chargers allowed six sacks when Alt was out last week. They were already short on depth, meaning they won’t be able to do much to stop an overwhelming Steelers defensive front.

Alt’s absence is also a big blow to the Chargers’ run game. Omarion Hampton and several backup running backs are out with injuries, leaving Kimani Vidal as the top option. While explosive, don’t expect much from the reserve back as he struggles to find room to run with Alt out.

The Steelers offense has been reliable all season and will be able to do enough against a good Chargers defense to get the win on Sunday night.

The Steelers' run defense ranks around the middle of the league, allowing 105.5 yards per game and a 4.2 YPC average. While they are coming off an incredible showing against the red-hot Jonathon Taylor last week, we haven’t seen them play at that level consistently, making it hard to believe we’ll see a similar performance on Sunday Night Football.
