Our first prop bet of the day takes us to Buffalo, New York, for a matchup between the Canadiens and the Sabres. This game may not be super exciting, as the Canadiens are going through a rebuild, and the Playoffs are slipping away from the Sabres. This bet involves the Canadiens’ Michael Matheson. Matheson is a defenseman and does not score too much, but he is not afraid to shoot. He will put at least three shots on net today. Bet on the over.
Matheson comes into this game with eight goals and 20 assists. He has performed surprisingly well in his previous five games and has two goals and five assists in that time. Matheson is also averaging 3.6 shots per game in this period. This is significant because he is only averaging 2.56 shots per game on the season. The 29-year-old has been seeing the puck differently lately, which has resulted in him shooting more. If my first argument was not enough, I will add this. Matheson faced the Sabers earlier this season and finished with three shots. He will have no problem shooting at least three times in this game. Bet on the over.

We will go to Canada’s capital for our second prop bet of the day. This game between the Florida Panthers and the Ottawa Senators will be a little more interesting. The Senators may be nearly out of the Playoff race, but the Panthers are only three points out of the second Wild Card spot. I only say this to show why this game will be exciting. We will look at the Panthers’ Anthony Duclair for this prop. Duclair has missed much of the season on the injured list and only made his season debut on February 24. He has played in 11 games this season and put up decent numbers. He will face a weaker Senators team today, so I expect him to finish with a point. Bet on the over.
This bet could go either way, but I am pushing toward the over because the Senators are not a strong defensive team. They allow 3.25 goals per game and gave up five goals to the New Jersey Devils in their previous matchup. Ottawa also struggled against the Panthers in their first matchup this season and gave up five goals. Since the Senators give up a lot of goals, I would expect Duclair to finish with at least one point. He will have plenty of opportunities to finish with at least an assist. Bet on the over.

We will return to the United States for our third prop bet of the day. This will be one of the best games of the day. The New Jersey Devils and the New York Islanders will likely make the Playoffs (the Devils already clinched a spot), so this is a matchup between two solid teams. This bet involves the Islanders’ Bo Horvat. Horvat was traded to the Islanders from the Vancouver Canucks before the Trade Deadline and has struggled to score since arriving in New York but has not stopped shooting. He will put up at least three shots today. Bet on the over.
Horvat has only scored five times in 22 games for the Islanders. This is a surprising drought, especially considering he scored 31 times in 49 games for the Islanders this year. Even though his scoring has decreased, his shot output has slightly increased. The center was averaging 2.91 shots per game in Vancouver but is now averaging 3.05 shots in New York. More importantly, he is coming off a five-shot game against the Buffalo Sabres and has not shot two or fewer times in his previous five games. The numbers point towards the over, so I recommend betting on it.
Our final two prop bets will be goalie props. We will return to Long Island for this bet. It involves the Islanders’ Ilya Sorokin. Sorokin has been the starting netminder for the Islanders all season long and is easily a top-ten netminder. He is often a brick wall in net and will have at least 30 saves today. Bet on the over.
Sorokin comes into this game with a .923 save percentage, the third-highest in the league. He will face a New Jersey Devils team that averages 34.5 shots per game, but that is not all. Sorokin also plays for a team that allows quite a few shots. The Islanders allow 31.3 shots per game and gave up an absurd 42 shots to the Devils when they faced them earlier this season. In addition, the Islanders allowed the Buffalo Sabres to shoot 35 times in their previous matchup.
The Devils will likely shoot 35+ times this game. That will give Sorokin enough opportunities to have 30 saves. Bet on the over.

Our final prop bet of the day will take us back to Ottawa. This bet involves the Senators’ Mads Sogaard. Sogaard only made his season debut and has not had a great season so far. However, he will face a Panthers’ team that leads the NHL in shots per game and have 31 or more saves. Bet on the over.
Sogaard is coming off two strong performances against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins. He only gave up two goals in each game. The 22-year-old will battle it out with a Panthers team that averages nearly 37 shots per game today. I expect the Panthers’ shot output to stay consistent today and Sogaard to finish with 33 or 34 saves. Bet on the over.
