Our first prop bet of the day will involve the Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. There are only three games on the slate today, so we will use another prop from this matchup later on in this article. This prop will involve the Maple Leafs’ William Nylander. Nylander has provided excellent production for Toronto and averages over 18 minutes a game on the ice. He is an excellent goal-scorer and one of the Maple Leafs’ top-five players. Nylander is only 26 years old but already has 81 points in 73 games. However, as good as he is, the over/under is set a little high for this prop. Nylander is a prolific shooter but will not shoot four or more times today. Bet on the under.
Nylander is averaging 3.47 shots per game but has only shot four times in his previous two games. I realize that Nylander’s average is almost 3.5, but he has not shot four or more times in a game since March 13. In fact, the winger has only shot four or more times twice this month. This is for a few reasons, but the main one is that Nylander has only scored three times in March. It has been his quietest scoring month of the season, and he is only averaging 2.62 shots per game.
Since Nylander is having a quieter offensive month, it would not make sense to bet on the over. Play it safe and bet on the under.

We will go to Washington for our second prop bet of the day. This bet is a little risky but one worth taking. Alex Ovechkin is no spring chicken, but he is still a killer on the ice. He is averaging over a point a game and is dangerous with the puck in his hands. I expect Ovechkin to score a goal today. Bet on him to be an anytime scorer.
Ovechkin comes into this game with 42 goals and 30 assists. He has scored in his previous four games. Even though the Capitals have lost three of those games, Ovechkin did everything he could to keep them in it.
Ovechkin has faced the Islanders twice this season and is yet to score a goal. He does have two assists, but he has not found the back of the net. Some may find that concerning, but I do not. Ovechkin rarely goes three games in a row without scoring a goal. He is due to score tonight and will do so.

Our third prop bet of the day will come from the third game of the day. It will also be the safest bet of the day. We will look at the Avalanche’s Valeri Nichushkin for this prop. Nichushkin has missed a lot of time with injuries this season but has been fantastic when healthy. He will finish with at least three shots today. Bet on the over.
Nichushkin is averaging 2.91 shots per game this season. More importantly, he shot five times in his previous game against the Anaheim Ducks and is averaging four shots per game over his last four games. Nichushkin is seeing the puck differently, resulting in him taking more shots. Since he is shooting with more ease lately, I have to recommend betting on the over.

We will return to Toronto for our fourth prop bet of the day. This is the first game of the day, so I have returned to this game first. In the first prop, we looked at the Maple Leafs’ William Nylander, but for the second prop, we will look at the Panthers’ Carter Verhaeghe. Vergaeghe is doing everything he can to push his team to the Playoffs. After Matthew Tkackuk and Aleksander Barkov, he is the Panthers’ best offensive player. He has 66 points in 73 games this season and is shooting a ton. I expect him to finish with at least four shots today. Bet on the over.
Verhaeghe comes into this game with 36 goals and 30 assists. He is on a shooting tear this month and averaging 4.42 shots per game. Very few players in the NHL shoot this much, but it is also impressive because Verhaeghe is only averaging 3.44 shots on the season. For whatever reason, he has stepped up his shooting this month. It has only resulted in five goals, but not for lack of trying.
Verhaeghe has shot four or more times in his previous eight games. I do not see why his streak will end today. He is facing a tough Toronto Maple Leafs team but is averaging five shots a game against them this season. Bet on the over.

We have returned to Washington for our final prop bet of the day. This prop involves the Capitals’ John Carlson. Carlson is a solid defenseman and plays over 23 minutes a game. He even produces a little bit on the offensive end, but I would not bet on him to secure a point today. He is facing a tough New York Islanders team and will have his troubles getting a goal or an assist. Bet on the under.
Carlson has missed a lot of time with injury and has 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) in 32 games. His offensive production is decent, but his opponents, the Islanders, have been playing great defense lately. They only gave up one goal in their previous game to the New Jersey Devils and have only given up ten goals in their previous five games. The Islanders are playing excellent hockey and will not give Carlson enough chances to get a point. Bet on the under.
