It’s episode 134 of Wise Kracks and we are looking back at Super Bowl LVII: how did the guys do, what did they think of the game as a whole, did sportsbooks profit as big as expected?

Your hosts Bill Krackomberger and Jon Orlando talk about if the Kansas City Chiefs won or the Philadelphia Eagles lost the game and even fast forward 12 months as they evaluate the early futures market for Super Bowl LVIII.

“Did I blow it?”

Jon worries that he may have missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in terms of a Super Bowl viewing option while Bill wonders aloud why anyone would host a party. While he may not be a natural host, he does have two takes when it comes to the best shows to watch when you’re doom and gloom

“Is that even possible?”

The Super Bowl is the most public bet sporting event in America … does that make it a can’t miss for sportsbooks?

“50,000 tickets a minute”

Bill brings up some amazing numbers in terms of the volume of action that sportsbooks take on The Big Game and football in general. He is out on speculating too far in advance, something that works in contrary to advice Jon recently gave a friend: who do you agree with?

College Basketball

“I bet a lot on the lesser known teams”

Bill has traditionally been very profitable on betting college hoops and he offers some of his betting tips both before and during March Madness. There are plenty of edges to gain given the volume of teams/games in the sport and that leaves sportsbooks a bit more vulnerable than they ever are in a sport like the NFL.

“Bankroll management. I preach it for all sports, but it’s even more important for basketball.”

UFC 285: Jones vs Gane

We have a live bet taking place on the show for the March 4 bout… play or fade Jon Jones (-150)? Jon also announces a special guest coming on the show at the end of February and promises it will be a victory tour for the athlete scheduled to appear.
