When these two teams met a couple of weeks ago, both teams were on cruise control while playing great basketball against lesser teams. So, the question going into that matchup was who would come out looking like a legit contender and who would come out with their tail between their legs and avoiding eye contact.
Vegas was the victor, winning with relative ease 80-66, but then the good times came to a screeching halt as they lost three of their next four games. As for Minnesota, the loss lit a fire under them, and the team went on to win four of its next five games.
But much like the first game, the Lynx have been winning but against lesser teams. Let’s review the betting line for tonight’s Lynx vs. Aces game, along with our betting preview and pick.
Minnesota has been one of the better teams to bet on this season. Not only have they gone 8-3 outright, but they are the best team in the league against the spread, having gone 9-2. With one of the best offenses and defenses in the league, such results are to be expected.
Vegas, on the other hand, has been a tale of two teams this season. It started out fine, winning four of their first five (4-1). But the team has taken a dive over the last week, losing three of four to fall to 5-4 and a league-worst 3-6 ATS.

The last game against the Aces was a test for the Lynx. After beating up on lesser teams to start the season, could they beat a contender?
As it turns out, the answer was no. Las Vegas was in control for most of the game, but Minnesota made a valiant comeback attempt in the third quarter before fizzling out in the fourth and losing by 14.
The Lynx didn't waste time getting back to business by knocking off their next three opponents before dropping a nail-biter to Phoenix, 81-80. However, they bounced back with a decisive win against a Seattle team on the rise, 83-64.
At 8-3, they are near the top of the standings, and have the league's No. 3 offense and the No. 2 defense. Everything looks fantastic on paper, but can they bring it home and take down a good team like the two-time defending champs?
Bet on Minnesota Lynx at FanDuel
When the Aces last faced the Lynx in Minnesota, the team played like a defending champ and took care of business against the upstart Lynx. But then something clicked off over the next four games as the Aces struggled, losing three.
A'ja Wilson was still putting up monster numbers every night. But she didn't get much help from the bench or the other four starters on the team. Against the Dream, the bench chipped in just five. In the loss to Seattle, Wilson scored more than the other four starters combined.
In the loss to the Sparks, scoring wasn't the issue. They just couldn't play effective defense against one of the worst offenses in the league (No. 10 with 77.9 ppg). Last season, they had one of the best defenses in the league.
The roster is still stacked with talented players, but for some reason, they just haven't been playing great basketball lately. If there was a time to struggle, it is better to do so now rather than when playoff time rolls around.
Bet on Las Vegas Aces at FanDuel
The Aces are an incredibly frustrating team at the moment because it is hard to see what's gone wrong with the team. So, when figuring out how to bet, you have to decide what version of the Aces you think will show up, the one we've seen the last few games or the two-time defending champs.
While it would be nice to see the champs play like, well—champs, there is no reason to think it will happen against a solid team like the Lynx. Minnesota is playing well and should not have too much trouble taking care of business against the Aces.
