The Dallas Wings will try to end their seven-game losing streak on the road against one of the best teams in the WNBA this season, the Minnesota Lynx. On the other hand, Minnesota will try to win their fourth in a row and seventh in their last eight games.
The Lynx opened as 7.5-point favorites, but the spread has since increased to nine points. When these two teams met on June 2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, they were a 6.5-point favorite. While the Lynx covered the spread, the Wings put up a solid fight.
Let’s take a look at the betting odds for the game, along with our preview and pick.
As one of four teams to end the 2023 regular season with a winning record (22-18), it didn’t seem like a farfetched idea that the Wings could be contenders this season. But with a dozen games under their metaphorical belt, it will take an incredible turnaround to see them just make the playoffs.
Of course, with 28 games left to play, a 3-9 record has plenty of time to improve. A win over arguably the best team in the league, Minnesota, could be just what the Wings need to propel themselves in the right direction.
It’s a nice theory, but making it a reality will not be easy. Here is the betting line for tonight’s game between Dallas and Minnesota. Odds taken from BetMGM. Head over to BetMGM and claim up to $1,500 in bonus bets paid back*!

A promising 3-2 start to the 2024 season has taken a drastic turn in the opposite direction for the Wings. With an 85-67 loss at the hands of the Connecticut Sun Saturday at home, the Wings have fallen to 3-9. It was the seventh consecutive loss and third during the streak by double digits.
While their record paints a bleak picture for Dallas, there might be hope for the Wings. When these teams played on June 2, it was a competitive game. Minnesota led by a point at halftime and by four as the game entered the final quarter.
They got within two but then went cold for about five minutes, giving the Lynx a chance to blow the game wide open.
Minnesota is scoring just 5.1 ppg more than the Wings, a difference that is not too hard to overcome. But their No. 11-ranked defense will have a challenge slowing down the second-most prolific offense in the league.
However, if they can for four quarters…
This game could be an easy one for the Lynx.
They have one of the best offenses and defenses in the league. Minnesota is the No. 1 team in the league in field goal and three-point shooting percentage, and their defense is as stingy as the offense is prolific (No. 2 scoring defense, No. 2 field goal percentage allowed, and No. 1 three-point percentage allowed).
Dallas has comparable rebounding and assists numbers but gives up 85.9 ppg (No. 11) and scores just 81 ppg. On paper, Minnesota should cruise to a win over Dallas, which is just the kind of game a dominant team like the Lynx will lose.
It’s not uncommon for dominant teams to slack off against weaker opponents. They let the lesser team linger within striking range, a hot streak away from taking the lead. Then, late in the fourth, when Minnesota’s usually prolific offense goes cold, the Wings pull ahead and steal a victory.
There is no such as an “easy” one. It’s teams that treat certain games like they should be easy wins that get upset.
Bet on Minnesota Lynx at BetMGM
Even if they don’t bring their “A” game, the Lynx will have no problem beating the Wings. But there is no value in betting on the moneyline, which leaves betting on the total or spread. While the OVER is 7-5 for Dallas, it’s just 6-7 for the Lynx this season.
There is no reason to think the Wings will slow the Lynx offensive juggernaut down, and the Wings should struggle to score against the Minnesota defense. But that makes betting on the total questionable since it could easily go either way.
But, as for the spread, the Lynx are 10-3 ATS this season; Dallas is 5-7. With Minnesota on the rise and the Lynx in the midst of a nosedive, the Lynx will probably have no trouble covering a nine-point spread.
