We begin our Both Teams to Score tips with today’s first match, which comes from Group D and will therefore hold particular interest for fans of the USMNT. We are confident that Turkey will make the net bulge in its first outing of the summer, but Australia will find it difficult to beat the opposition goalkeeper.
Turkey was one of the most thrilling performers at Euro 2024, when it reached the quarter-finals using an attack-minded, front-footed game plan. Vinenzo Montella has long been a manager who favors technique over physique, which is good news for Turkish talents like Arda Guler and Kenan Yildiz.
Turkey has scored in nine of its last 10 matches, and the exception was a tough clash with European champions Spain. Australia does not pack the same sort of punch offensively. It has failed to score in half of its last six games, and will be heavily reliant on set-pieces at this World Cup. Go for BTTS no at -118 with FanDuel.

Four-time World Cup winners Germany makes its bow in North America today, with debutants Curacao standing in its way. One of four newcomers alongside Jordan, Uzbekistan and Cape Verde, Curacao is the smallest nation to have ever qualified for a World Cup. Simply being here is a fantastic achievement, but Dick Advocaat’s side will have its work cut out.
Germany will dominate this match from the first whistle. By its own historic standards, this is not a vintage roster for the Nationalelf, but it certainly contains enough quality to see off Curacao. Most of the match will be played in its opponent’s half, where Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane and Florian Wirtz will continually ask questions of the Curacao backline.
Advocaat will be hoping that his team has one or two moments, but Curacao will be feeding off scraps. It has failed to score against Jamaica and China in recent months, and although it found the net against Australia and Scotland, it lost both matches heavily. Choose BTTS no at -260 with FanDuel.

The most intriguing fixture scheduled for day four of the tournament takes place in Group F, as the Netherlands faces Japan. World Cup betting sites favor the Netherlands, but Japan represents good value.
It has not achieved as much as the Dutch historically, but the strongest team in Asia has beaten Brazil and England in recent months, plus it defeated Germany and Spain at World Cup 2022. Japan is the real deal and is a dark horse worth watching this summer.
The Netherlands’ defense looks strong, although the loss of Jurrien Timber to injury is a blow. It will not be easy to get past the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven, but Japan has the tools to do so.
The Samurai Blue has scored in seven consecutive games and averaged three goals per game in the final round of Asian qualifying. Pick BTTS yes at -134 with FanDuel.

The fourth of our soccer BTTS predictions today is ‘no’ for Ivory Coast vs Ecuador. Germany is widely tipped to win Group E, and these two teams are the main contenders to finish second. This clash between them is hugely significant, since the victor will be in pole position to advance directly to the round of 32.
It is a tough game to call, and that extends to BTTS. The pattern of matches involving Ecuador pushes us towards a ‘no’ prediction. This is a team which leans heavily on its defense. Ecuador conceded just five goals in its 18 qualifiers, a remarkably low tally given it played the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Colombia twice each. Both teams scored in only three of those 18 games, which works out at 16.67 percent.
Ivory Coast has more attacking talent available to it than Ecuador, but it is notable that three of its last five matches have been BTTS no. Choose that option at -152 with FanDuel.

Our fifth BTTS selection is ‘yes’ for Sweden vs Tunisia. In many ways, the Swedes are fortunate to be here. It finished bottom of its qualification group in Europe, but was given a second bite of the cherry via the play-offs. Victories over Ukraine and Poland saw Graham Potter’s team advance to the World Cup.
In the play-off final, Sweden beat Poland 3-2. That scoreline rather sums up the side’s approach. Sweden is much better going forward than it is defensively. It boasts two top strikers in Liverpool’s Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres of Arsenal. The backline is not of the same standard. In each of Sweden’s last six matches, neither side has kept a clean sheet.
Tunisia’s problem at major tournaments is usually an excess of caution, as the fear of losing results in the management throwing on the shackles. But given Sweden’s vulnerabilities, Tunisia must ensure it commits bodies to attack when the situation calls for it. Go for both teams to score at +100 with FanDuel.
