France vs. Senegal

France, one of the favorites to win World Cup 2026, faces Senegal in its opening game.

Michael Olise to Score Any Time (+200) at FanDuel

We begin our soccer player props today by recommending a bet on Michael Olise to score when France faces Senegal. This promises to be a fascinating encounter. Senegal famously beat France in the opening game at World Cup 2002, and it is not impossible that it will do so again. Senegal is the underdog, but it is also the best team in Africa right now. Do not rule it out.

While we anticipate a tight tussle between France and Senegal, the former’s superior firepower in the final third is likely to be the decisive factor. With a front four of Ousmane Dembele, Olise, Desire Doue and Kylian Mbappe, France will score plenty of goals this summer. Mbappe is the favorite to win the Golden Boot, but Olise represents better value in the anytime scorer market.

It has been quite the rise for the England-born attacker, who had not even made his senior debut for France two years ago. Now he is set to play as the team’s No.10 at the World Cup. While Senegal’s center-backs will keep a close eye on Mbappe throughout, Olise will be able to find pockets of space starting slightly deeper.

The Bayern Munich man has scored seven goals in 17 caps for France, while he found the back of the net 22 times for his German club team in the 2025/26 campaign. Olise is a cool finisher who does not seem to feel pressure, which is part of what makes him such a top player.

As France gets its World Cup started against Senegal, select Olise to score any time at +200 with FanDuel.

Iraq vs. Norway

Iraq and Norway enter World Cup 2026 today, with Boston Stadium staging this match.

Over 3.5 Goals (+154) at FanDuel

Iraq and Norway will play their first World Cup match of the 21st century today. Iraq has been absent from soccer’s flagship event since 1986, while Norway has not taken part in the competition since 1998. Both national teams cannot wait to get going this summer, although having been drawn in the same group as France and Senegal, neither side will have things easy over the next fortnight.

Iraq and Norway had very different qualification experiences. For Iraq, it was a marathon. It had to go through 21 matches to make it to North America, including a play-off in Asia followed by an interconfederation play-off. For Norway, it was a sprint. It won all eight qualifiers to top its group and advance automatically to the tournament.

With Erling Haaland front and center, Norway scored goals for fun in its qualifying group. It found the back of the net 37 times in eight games, which works out as a ludicrous 4.63 goals every 90 minutes. Six of its eight matches featured over 3.5 goals, as did a warm-up friendly against Sweden which ended 3-1 in the Norwegians’ favor.

Iraq is not as adept offensively as Norway, but it will be forced to fight fire with fire today. If it simply sits back and hopes for the best, it will surely lose. Goals are on the cards here - go for over 3.5 of them at +154 with FanDuel.

Argentina vs. Algeria

Reigning world champions Argentina begin the defense of its crown against Algeria.

Argentina to Score in Both Halves (+134) at FanDuel

Having watched most other teams play their first games of the tournament, Argentina will be excited to finally get its campaign started today. Our recommended daily World Cup team props continues with a selection for Argentina to score in both halves against Algeria, which represents pretty good value for sports bettors.

Argentina is looking to make history this summer by becoming the first team to retain the World Cup trophy on a continent other than its own. Italy won its second in succession in France in 1938, while Brazil made it two triumphs on the bounce in Chile in 1962. Lionel Scaloni’s team is now attempting to break new ground by claiming the prize in North America.

Lionel Messi has recovered from injury and will be involved against Algeria, although he will not play 90 minutes on matchday one. Even so, Argentina is a strong attacking force. Julian Alvarez is a transfer target for Real Madrid and Barcelona for a reason. Giuliano Simeone, Nico Paz and Lautaro Martinez all offer qualities of their own.

In each of its last three matches, Argentina has scored in both the first and second periods. It has the tools to do the same against Algeria, which is better going forward than it is at the back. Its defense will be put under sustained pressure by the defending champion, which is keen to make a statement of intent in its first game. Tip Argentina to score in both halves at +134 with FanDuel.
