About Matt Cooper

Matt Cooper is a British sports and sports betting journalist with significant experience in sports betting.

As a lifelong sports fan and keen traveler, Matt has ventured to all four corners of the world to watch and cover many sports and events. His favorite as a fan were two England-Australia cricket series down under (better known as the Ashes). As a journalist, he has fond memories of journeys to Nepal, Morocco, and South Korea. His passion for sport fuels his golf analysis on all tours and at every level.

Experience

Matt made his first bet as a 16-year-old – and it was a winner. But his professional life in the gambling world began with previews of the DP World Tour for Sporting Life (the U.K.’s leading gambling sites) in 2006.

That early foray led to regular work with Sporting Life and he has also tipped golf for Golf365, PlanetGolf, Betfair, and Unibet. He is also a regular guest on the DP World Tour’s The Tips podcast.

Outside of gambling, Matt also writes about golf for Global Golf Post, Today’s Golfer, and The Guardian. He has also worked for Sky Sports, Forbes, ESPN, and NBC Rotoworld (among many others).

Matt is not just a shrewd judge of golf - his analysis is also born of many years working at tournaments and his information often comes straight from the course, the range, or the putting green.
