Our first bet is a bit of a long shot. The Tigers’ outfielder isn’t the slugger he once was, but he is having a strong season for this surprising Detroit team. His best work has come when playing at home, where he owns a .293 batting average over 82 at-bats. While most of his home runs have come on that road, that will change tonight. 

Jameson Taillon (5-3, 3.76 ERA, 1.01 WHIP) will be on the mound to start for the Cubs tonight. The 33-year-old has been improving after a brutal slump, but he is still struggling to keep the ball in the park. He’s allowed 16 home runs on the season, which is the second-highest total in the league.

Taillon has been one of Baez’s favorite pitchers over his career. He owns a .571 average, 1.619 OPS, and two home runs against the veteran starter. Combine that with the former Cubs’ star facing his former team, and you can see why we love this home run prop.

The 32-year-old Dodgers outfielder has been putting up solid numbers for LA this season. He’s gone deep 10 times this season, but has just one home run since May 1. Given his 33 home runs in 2024, we know the slugger is going to get hot again soon, and this afternoon will be the perfect chance for him to start turning things around.

Hernandez will be facing St. Louis starter Erick Fedde (3-5, 3.82 ERA, 1.29 WHIP). His numbers are solid, but he’s been wildly inconsistent from start to start. We expect him to struggle against the Dodgers in general, but especially when Hernandez is at bat. The outfielder has just six at-bats against Fedde, but has taken him deep twice on three hits.

The Mariners’ catcher has been one of the best stories of 2025. He has been a solid part of a bad Seattle lineup over the last few seasons, but has broken out in 2025. He leads the league with 24 home runs and owns the fourth-highest OPS (1.016), and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down as of yet.

We like Cal Raleigh’s chances to add to his home run total tonight against the Angels. One reason is LA starter Jack Kochanowicz, with whom the catcher is two-for-three with a home run against. Once the 24-year-old exits, he’ll turn things over to a bullpen that owns the third-worst ERA in baseball (5.75).
