Best MLB Home Run Props Today: Stick with the Usual Suspects for Wednesday
The early part of the baseball season still isn’t going according to plan. All of MLB’s home run hitters are total surprises and not the players we expect to hit home runs. However, it’s just a matter of time until things start getting back to normal, which is why we decided to target many of the usual suspects to go deep on Wednesday.

Yordan Alvarez Anytime Home Run (+210) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Alvarez is 0 for 7 over Houston’s first two games at Coors Field this week. But we know that can’t last long, especially with the way Alvarez has started the season. Despite going hitless in back-to-back games, Alvarez is hitting .324 with four home runs on the season.
Wednesday’s matchup with Michael Lorenzen also points to Alvarez breaking out of his mini-slump. Despite just six career at-bats against Lorenzen, Alvarez has three hits, including a double and a home run. Look for him to break out in a big way on Wednesday.

Kyle Schwarber Anytime Home Run (+240) at FanDuel Sportsbook
It looks like Schwarber is up to his old tricks. On the season, he’s batting just .179 but already has three home runs. While he’s not making a ton of contact, Schwarber is selling out for power, so if he gets the bat on the ball, he has a chance to go deep. That’s going to make him a decent candidate for a home run prop most days.
On Wednesday, he’s an excellent candidate because the Phillies are facing Tyler Mahle. Schwarber is 5 for 18 with two home runs in his career against Mahle. Schwarber has taken him deep in the past, so it’s not hard to imagine him doing it again with the way he’s started the season.

Shohei Ohtani Anytime Home Run (+225) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Ohtani is pulling double duty on Wednesday, starting the series finale against the Blue Jays on the mound. But we know that Ohtani doesn’t let being the starting pitcher distract him at the plate. He’s had plenty of games where he stars as both a pitcher and a hitter.
At the moment, Ohtani is in the midst of a five-game hitting streak, a stretch that includes three home runs and four multi-hit games. In other words, he’s locked in at the plate, so why not bet on him to keep it going? The kicker is that Ohtani is 10 for 26 with three home runs in his career against Dylan Cease, who starts for Toronto. Given his past success against Cease, Ohtani is a prime candidate to go deep on Wednesday.

Jazz Chisholm Anytime Home Run (+270) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Chisholm is definitely the outlier among Wednesday’s home run targets. He’s only batting .200 on the season and has yet to hit a home run. However, Chisholm does have two doubles in his last four games, so the power his coming, which means his first home run of the season is right around the corner.
More importantly, Chisholm should benefit from a matchup against former Yankee Luis Severino, who has long been prone to the long ball. More importantly, Chisholm is 5 for 11 with a double and two home runs in his career against Severino. This is the perfect opportunity for Chisholm to break out of his slump and take advantage of the short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium.
