It’s been tough sledding for home run props early in the season. For Wednesday, we decided to take a chance on the players who are among the current home run leaders. These are the players who have excelled at going deep over the first few weeks of the season. Luckily, most of these players still aren’t the obvious choices, so they offer great value.

There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the four players we’re locked in on.
Judge went without a home run for over a week when the Yankees went into a tailspin. While the Yanks haven’t quite pulled themselves out of their slump, Judge is moving in the right direction. He has a three-game hitting streak with three home runs during that stretch, giving him six long balls on the season.
Pitching-wise, Judge has an interesting matchup on Wednesday against Jack Kochanowicz of the Angels. While Judge is just 1 for 5 in his career against him, Kochanowicz was prone to the long ball last season, giving up 21 over 111 innings of work. That’s an indicator that he could have some trouble with Judge despite some initial success against him.

With eight home runs, Walker is the current MLB leader in that area. The 23-year-old has been one of the league’s biggest stars over the first few weeks of the season. It’s just a small sample size, but Walker appears to be living up to his potential and then some.
This is more than beginner’s luck, as Walker currently has a 10-game hitting streak. He has five multi-hit games during that stretch and home runs in three of his last four games. Walker is red-hot right now and worth targeting in a home run prop, especially against Cleveland’s Slade Cecconi, who has already allowed three home runs in 15.2 innings this year.

Lowe hit two home runs on opening day and has been raking ever since. With seven home runs, he’s just one behind Walker for the league lead. Lowe had another two-homer game on Sunday and is scorching hot at the moment, going 6 for 11 with four home runs over his last three games.
How do you not take a chance on a player that hot right now? The kicker is that Lowe and the Pirates are facing Jake Irvin on Wednesday. Lowe is 2 for 5 with a home run in his career against Irvin. Plus, Irvin owns a 7.07 ERA this season, already conceding three home runs in just 14 innings. He also gave up a league-high 38 home runs last season, making him extra vulnerable against someone like Lowe.

Diaz is the outlier of the group today, as he has just three home runs on the season. However, he does have plenty of power to tap into, slugging 25 homers last year. He’s also hitting .365, which is the third-best average in baseball and is 6 for 16 over his last four games, so he’s in a nice groove at the plate.
Of course, the pitching matchup on Wednesday was key in making him one of our home run targets. He’s 2 for 4 with a home run in his career against Sean Burke, who starts for the White Sox. It’s not a huge sample size, but since Burke gave up 23 home runs last year and the White Sox have one of the worst bullpens in baseball, Diaz is in a good spot and worth a shot.
