The Chicago White Sox are once again struggling, but it appears they may have found a new star in Munetaka Murakami. The slugger caught the eye of MLB scouts after hitting 56 home runs in 2022 in the JPCL. While many teams passed on the slugger over fears his power wouldn’t work against MLB pitching, Murakami is proving them wrong in a big way.

There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the three players we’re locked in on.
The White Sox won’t be contending for the playoffs in 2026, but their new third baseman is making them must-see TV. Murakami is in his first season in the MLB after being one of Japan’s top sluggers.
Despite many scouts and analysts believing the 26-year-old’s game wouldn’t translate, he's opened his rookie campaign with the second-most home runs (10) and third-highest OPS (1.026). He’s clicking on all cylinders on offense, despite that lack of protection around him.
Murakami will be facing Nationals starter Miles Mikolas (0-3, 9.15 ERA, 1.98 WHIP) for the first time. While the veteran looked better over four innings his last time out, he went into that start 0-3 with an 11.49 ERA. While we know those numbers won’t remain so high, it’s clear the 37-year-old is likely in his final days as an MLB player.
A big part of Mikolas’s downfall has been his struggles against left-handed hitters.

Adell established himself as one of the league’s better power hitters after smacking 37 home runs last season. A big reason for his breakout was his play against left-handed pitchers, like he’ll see tonight. He posted a .931 OPS against them last season with seven home runs over 94 at-bats.
The Angels’ slugger's success against lefties has carried into 2026. He is batting .313 against them over 32 at-bats, while also posting all three of his home runs.
The lefty on the mound for the Royals tonight will be Noah Cameron (1-1, 5.40 ERA, 1.45 WHIP). The 26-year-old was great for Kansas City during his 2025 rookie campaign and seemed to be carrying that into this season. However, things have come apart over his last two starts, allowing ten runs over 9 ⅓ innings. Cameron allowed six total home runs over his last two starts, which is good news for Adell heading into tonight’s matchup.

The Dodgers’ right fielder has been slow to rediscover his power in 2026, with only four home runs on the season. However, we believe the pitching matchup he’ll face tonight makes him a promising home run bet.
Hernandez and the Dodgers will be facing Cubs’ starter Jameson Taillon (1-1, 3.97 ERA, 1.28 WHIP). While his early numbers are respectable, he is once again proving to be vulnerable to the long ball, allowing the third-most home runs in the league (6). All six of those home runs have come over his three starts this month, and we see him adding to it again tonight.
Taillon has faced Hernandez 18 times, allowing a .278 average with a pair of home runs.
The Cubs’ starter has historically fared well at Dodger Stadium, but hasn’t made a start there since 2023.
