With home run props, there is no such thing as a sure thing. For Wednesday, we’re taking that to another level by targeting players who are far from a sure thing. However, we have good reason to believe that these players have a chance to hit a home run, meaning they offer exceptional value, which is sometimes what you’re looking for with home run props.

Admittedly, Judge doesn’t fit the overall motif for our picks today. He’s the co-leader in home runs this season with 14, making him as close to a sure thing as possible. That being said, at +240, Judge still offers remarkably good value for a power hitter of his prowess.
In his last three games, Judge is 5 for 11 with a double and two home runs, so he’s as hot as any hitter in baseball at the moment. On Wednesday, he and the Yankees are matched up against Nathan Eovaldi. Judge is familiar with Eovaldi, going 14 for 46 (.304) with two doubles and two home runs against him. But Eovaldi has been a disaster this season, already giving up nine home runs, helping Judge’s chances of going deep on Wednesday.

Alonso’s slow start to the season has been well documented. That has helped to give him more lucrative odds, as he has a modest six home runs more than a month into the season. However, we believe that Wednesday is a good time to take advantage of those odds, as Alonso seems to be coming alive, as he has six extra-base hits during his six-game hitting streak.
On Wednesday, Alonso has a favorable pitching matchup against Miami’s Eury Perez. While the sample size is a small one, Alonso is 3 for 4 with a double and a home run in his career against Perez. But that’s enough to take a chance on Alonso, especially at a moment when his bat is starting to heat up.

The fact that Devers has just two home runs this season is one of the great mysteries of the MLB season thus far. This is a guy who’s hit over 30 home runs in six straight seasons (not including the shortened 2020 season when he had 16 in just 57 games). The power has to come at some point, and it could come soon with Devers in the midst of a six-game hitting streak.
Facing Matt Waldon of the Padres is also a good omen for Devers. He’s 2 for 2 with a home run in his limited experience facing Waldron. More importantly, Waldron has had three dreadful starts this season, pitching to a 9.88 ERA and allowing three home runs in just 13.2 innings. If that continues, the stars could be aligned for Devers to start tapping into his power.

If you’re not familiar with Lee, you’re probably not the only one. However, he and the Twins are facing Miles Mikolas on Wednesday. Mikolas owns an 8.23 ERA and has already given up eight home runs in just 27.1 innings this season. That means anyone on the Twins is potentially a good target for a home run prop, and we chose Lee.
Left-handed hitters have a much higher batting average and slugging percentage against Mikolas, so a switch-hitter like Lee makes sense. The Minnesota shortstop has five home runs on the season, so he offers some power. He’s also raging hot right now, going 7 for 16 in his last four games. After going 3 for 5 with two doubles on Tuesday, if Lee can keep it going, he’s poised to do big things against Mikolas on Wednesday.
