Normally a pitcher to fade, we kick off our day backing Patrick Corbin in his matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays, attacking a lineup who struggles with getting into scoring position. Later in the night, positive regression looms large over Cole Ragans in his matchup against the Cleveland Guardians as he battles it out against a lineup who severely underwhelms on offense.

Best NRFI Bets Today 2026 05 06 Blue Jays Patrick Corbin

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays - Patrick Corbin vs. Shane McClanahan (1:10 PM, EST)

Expect no runs to be scored in the first inning between Toronto and Tampa Bay, pitting two offenses against each other who struggle to put Runs up on the board.

Under 0.5 Run (-120) at BetMGM Sportsbook

In his first stint with the Toronto Blue Jays, Patrick Corbin has been able to get off to a hot start, averaging an ERA of 3.65 in his new home. His ability to avoid contact has helped him turn his career around, generating less than one Hit Against per Inning Pitched in five starts.

In a favorable matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays, expect Corbin to build on his momentum by taking advantage of a lineup who ranks below league average in Runs Scored, RBIs, and in OPS. Even with his back end struggling in coverage, Corbin’s ability to put batters in low quality contact scenarios will help him avoid getting burned by an error to keep a clean sheet in the first inning.

On the other end, Shane McClanahan is projected to get the start for the Rays, a productive arm who is averaging a FIP of 2.87 and over one Strikeout per inning. With the Blue Jays residing in the bottom ten in On Base Percentage and in RBIs, expect McClanahan to continue to hold them out of scoring position by creating Whiffs and exit the first inning without conceding a Run.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Kansas City Royals - Joey Cantillo vs. Cole Ragans (7:40 PM, EST)

With the Cleveland Guardians struggling on offense, expect Cole Ragans to round back into dominant form and hold them scoreless in the first inning.

Under 0.5 Run (-125) at BetMGM Sportsbook

Even after re-tooling their lineup, the Cleveland Guardians have still underwhelmed on offense, ranking below league average in Hit Rate, On Base Percentage, and in OPS. Their struggles on offense brings in a high amount of variance into their contests, making it difficult for them to win at a consistent rate.

Heading into Wednesday night’s AL Central divisional matchup against the Kansas City Royals, expect the Guardians struggles on offense to continue to persist as they face off against Cole Ragans who is averaging more than one Strikeout per inning. Especially with his back end excelling in coverage, fielding a group who ranks third overall in Fielding Percentage. Current AL Central odds reflect the tight nature of this race, making every divisional game a critical factor in the standings.

Like the Guardians, the Royals have also been unable to find their footing on offense, ranking equally as poor in the same previously mentioned offensive metrics. With Joey Cantillo on the mound, expect the Royals to continue to struggle to generate offense, facing off against an arm who is averaging an ERA of 3.67 and less than one Hit Against per Inning Pitched.
