San Francisco Giants vs. Detroit Tigers (1:10 PM EST)
| Run Line | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Giants | +1.5 (-220) | -110 | Over 8.5 (+100) |
| Tigers | -1.5 (+180) | -110 | Under 8.5 (-120) |
PICK: Giants ML (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook
We are backing young Giants’ starter Hayden Birdsong (2-0, 1.91 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) on the mound tonight. The 23-year-old started the season as a long reliever, but made his first start of the season last week. He was fantastic, allowing zero earned runs over five innings on five hits. He threw a total of 80 pitches and showed why he’s been flying up San Francisco’s prospect list.
Birdsong may not go more than five innings again today, but we trust the Giants’ bullpen to pick up where he leaves off. They own the league's best ERA (2.62), and closer Ryan Walker (10SV, 5.21 ERA) is finally settling in. The righty has not allowed a baserunner in three straight appearances.
The Tigers' lineup is talented, but they’ve been cooling off of late, with a .212 average and .286 OBP over the last week.
Detroit will start tonight with Keider Montero (1-1, 5.28 ERA, 1.57 WHIP) on the mound. The 24-year-old has not enjoyed the same early success as Birdsong and is coming off a start where he allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks. With the bullpen also struggling, we expect Montero and the Tigers to give the Giants plenty of chances to generate offense today.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers (4:05 PM EST)
| Run Line | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blue Jays | +1.5 (-165) | +135 | Over 7.5 (-105) |
| Rangers | -1.5 (+140) | -160 | Under 7.5 (-115) |
PICK: Blue Jays ML (+135) at Caesars Sportsbook
Toronto veteran Kavin Gausman (4-4, 4.03 ERA, 0.98 WHIP) has been up and down this season, but showed us he can still be elite in his last. He shut out the Padres over seven innings, allowing three hits and striking out nine.
We love Gauman’s chances to deliver another game tonight against a Rangers team that is continuing to struggle at the plate. They are batting a low .196 average and .568 OPS over the last week, while Corey Seager remains on the IL. Combine that with the Rangers' .184 average against Gausman over 103 at-bats, and you can see why we are rolling with Toronto tonight.
The Rangers will have another aging star on the mound in Jacob deGrom (4-1, 2.33 ERA, 0.93 WHIP). The 36-year-old has been healthy and pitching well, going 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA in May. He may deliver another gem tonight, but will turn things over to a shaky bullpen. The unit can’t be trusted in close games, leading us to back the Jays.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (4:05 PM EST)
| Run Line | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pirates | +1.5 (-135) | +150 | Over 9 (-120) |
| Diamondbacks | -1.5 (+115) | -178 | Under 9 (+100) |
Diamondbacks -1.5 (+115) at Caesars Sportsbook
The Pittsburgh Pirates are once again one of the worst teams in the NL. They are 19-35 largely thanks to their inability to generate offense. They are tied with the White Sox for the league's lowest OPS (.630) and have the fewest RBIs (154).
Look for the Pirates’ offensive struggles to continue tonight with Ryne Nelson on the mound (1-1, 4.60 ERA, 1.15 WHIP). The righty has been serving as a reliever for most of the season, but has also made two spot-starts. He looked fantastic at the start last week, allowing just one run on three hits and one walk over five innings. We expect him to be even better tonight against a far-worse Pirates offense that owns a .143 average against him.
The Buccos will have Andrew Heaney (3-3, 2.91 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) starting against the D-backs. He has been fantastic over his last three starts, but has only lasted five in his previous two. While he could find success against the D-backs, but that will be undone by the Pirates horrendous bullpen.
