Best NRFI Bets Today: Paul Skenes Takes the Mound
The juice is worth the squeeze for the NRFI in the Cardinals vs. Pirates game on Tuesday with Paul Skenes on the mound. Skenes will throw against Matthew Liberatore, and both pitchers have been fantastic in 2025.

Pirates vs. Cardinals - Paul Skenes vs. Matthew Liberatore (7:45 PM, EST)
Under 0.5 Run (-155) at Caesars Sportsbook
Paul Skenes will take the ball for the Pittsburgh Pirates and is pushing to win the National League Cy Young award. Skenes won the National League Rookie of the Year award and was one of the top finishers in the Cy Young race last season.
Skenes is nearly impossible to hit early in games, as batters struggle against his overpowering fastball and tremendous offspeed arsenal. He is 3-3 with a 2.74 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP.
While his strikeout numbers have been down, he has still fanned 41 batters in 42.2 innings. Skenes has only surrendered 31 hits in 42.2 innings with eight walks.
While he hasn’t looked as sharp as last season, Skenes has remained dominant. I trust him to deliver against a lackluster Cardinals offense.
Matthew Liberatore will dominate against the Pirates' inconsistent offense. Liberatore has been nearly as effective as Skenes throughout the year.
The pitcher has a 3.44 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP. He has allowed 30 hits in 34 innings with just two home runs.
The Pirates have the 27th-ranked batting average in baseball. St. Louis is 12th in runs scored, but Skenes will keep them off balance. The pitching and offensive combinations make this a perfect NRFI matchup.

Giants vs. Cubs - Justin Verlander vs. Colin Rea (7:40 PM, EST)
Under 0.5 Run (-120) at Caesars Sportsbook
If you’re tailing the Giants vs. Cubs NRFI, you must believe in Justin Verlander. Verlander is at the end of his career, but still has something left in the tank.
Verlander has underperformed at times this season, but he is better than his numbers suggest. He is 0-2 with a 4.38 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP.
He hasn’t been hit overly hard this season, but has struggled with control. Walks can be NRFI killers, but he should rise to the occasion against a potent Cubs offense.
Colin Rea is the easier pitcher of the two to trust in this game. Rea is 2-0 with a 1.46 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP.
He has allowed 21 hits in 24.2 innings with just one home run. Each offense has powerful hitters at the top of the lineup, but the pitchers should prevail, especially if the wind starts blowing in at Wrigley Field.

Rangers vs. Red Sox - Nathan Eovaldi vs. Lucas Giolito - Giolito started his Red Sox career strong but is due for regression. Boston has also scored most of their runs in the first inning this season.
