Blue Jays vs. Orioles - Trey Yesavage vs. Brandon Young (4:05 PM EST)

The American League East is slowly fading from both the Orioles and Blue Jays, making this series critical on both sides.

Trey Yesavage enters Saturday with a 2-2 record, a 2.25 ERA, and a 1.06 WHIP across 32 innings pitched. He has allowed only 24 hits while striking out 35 batters and has yet to surrender a home run. 

That ability to keep the ball in the park is especially important against a Baltimore lineup capable of generating instant offense.

The Orioles counter with Brandon Young, who has also produced solid results this season. Young owns a 3-1 record with a 3.47 ERA across 36.1 innings while allowing just 35 hits. 

Although his walk rate is higher than ideal, he has consistently worked through the top of opposing lineups and kept games under control early.

With two starters capable of limiting hard contact and avoiding major mistakes, this matchup is positioned well for a scoreless opening frame.

Marlins vs. Mets - Tyler Phillips vs. Christian Scott (4:10 PM EST)

The Mets and Marlins may not feature the most explosive offenses on Saturday's slate, but both teams send quality arms to the mound.

Tyler Phillips has been outstanding in limited action for Miami. The right-hander owns a 1.07 ERA through 33.2 innings while allowing only 24 hits and one home run.

Christian Scott will pitch for New York. Scott has posted a 3.20 ERA and recorded 30 strikeouts in just 25.1 innings pitched. 

While his walk numbers are slightly elevated, his swing-and-miss stuff gives him the ability to escape jams before they become major threats.

Neither lineup enters this matchup in an ideal spot offensively, which means a NRFI is a viable betting option.

Angels vs. Rays - Reid Detmers vs. Drew Rasmussen (4:10 PM EST)

If you like elite pitching, you’re going to want to watch the Rays and Angels battle.

Drew Rasmussen has quietly put together another excellent campaign for Tampa Bay. He enters with a 4-1 record, a 2.78 ERA, and a 0.98 WHIP over 55 innings pitched. 

Rasmussen has allowed only 44 hits all season while issuing just 10 walks, giving him one of the better command profiles in the American League.

The Angels will turn to Reid Detmers, whose win-loss record does not accurately reflect how well he has thrown the baseball. 

Detmers has 75 strikeouts in 63 innings and has allowed only 53 hits. His ability to miss bats consistently makes him dangerous against any lineup, and the Rays don’t generate high barrel rates. 

Both pitchers bring significant strikeout upside into this contest, and that is exactly what NRFI bettors want to see. With Rasmussen dealing and Detmers capable of overpowering hitters, I’m taking a NRFI in this contest.
