Best NRFI Bets Today: Shane McClanahan Headlines Friday's MLB Slate
The offenses are potent on Friday, but there are pitchers who can get us a scoreless first frame.
The Yankees travel to Toronto, the Cubs and Giants square off in a late-night National League battle, and Shane McClanahan takes the mound for Tampa Bay, looking to continue his excellent season.

Yankees vs. Blue Jays - Ryan Weathers vs. Trey Yesavage (7:40 PM EST)
The Yankees are dealing with significant injuries entering this matchup, and that's a major reason why the NRFI stands out.
Under 0.5 Run (-130) at DraftKings
New York will be without Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Austin Wells, removing a tremendous amount of power from the top half of the lineup. That should make life easier for Trey Yesavage, who has already impressed this season with a 3.16 ERA and 1.17 WHIP through 42.2 innings.
The right-hander has allowed only 31 hits and two home runs all year, showing an ability to keep hitters from doing serious damage.
Ryan Weathers has quietly delivered a strong campaign of his own. Across 70 innings, he owns a 3.86 ERA while striking out 79 batters and limiting opponents to 61 hits. His swing-and-miss ability gives him plenty of upside against a Toronto lineup that has struggled to consistently produce offense.
With the Yankees missing several key bats and both starters doing a solid job limiting baserunners, I like the chances of a scoreless first inning.

Cubs vs. Giants - Javier Assad vs. Landon Roupp (10:15 PM EST)
The Cubs must win games against inferior opponents, and they have an excellent chance against the Giants.
Under 0.5 Run (-125) at DraftKings
Javier Assad enters with a 3-1 record and a respectable 1.08 WHIP across 32.1 innings. While his ERA sits at 4.73, he's done an excellent job limiting hits, allowing only 27 all season.
When pitchers consistently keep runners off base, they naturally become attractive options for first-inning wagers.
Landon Roupp has been one of San Francisco's better strikeout pitchers this season. He has collected 77 strikeouts in 69.2 innings while allowing only four home runs. His ability to miss bats and avoid the long ball should help neutralize the top of Chicago's order.

Rays vs. Angels - Shane McClanahan vs. Sam Aldegheri (9:40 PM EST)
Whenever Shane McClanahan takes the mound, NRFI bettors should pay attention.
Under 0.5 Run (-115) at DraftKings
The Tampa Bay ace has been dominant this season, posting a 2.85 ERA and 1.10 WHIP through 60 innings. McClanahan has surrendered only 45 hits while allowing just three home runs, a combination that makes it extremely difficult for opponents to generate quick offense.
The Angels counter with Sam Aldegheri, who has looked sharp in limited action. Through 12 innings, he's recorded a 2.25 ERA while allowing only 11 hits. Although the sample size is small, he's done enough to show he can navigate major league lineups effectively.
McClanahan gives this play a very solid chance.

Best YRFI Bet
Rockies vs. Athletics - TBD vs. Gage Jump: This game checks every box for a YRFI. The total sits at a massive 13.5 runs, and the game is being played in a minor league ballpark that has consistently favored offense.
With Colorado's pitching staff struggling throughout the season and the Athletics turning to an inexperienced starter in Gage Jump, there should be plenty of opportunities for early scoring. In a game expected to produce runs all night, I'm betting on one happening in the first inning.
