Blue Jays vs. Cubs - Kevin Gausman vs. Ben Brown (2:20 PM EST)

Pete Crow-Armstrong has been crushing for the Cubs, so he will be a player to watch when Chicago hosts Toronto on Friday.

Chicago counters with Ben Brown, whose breakout season continues to gain attention. Brown owns a 1.74 ERA and 0.97 WHIP through 62 innings while allowing just 41 hits and one home run. Opposing hitters have struggled to square him up all season, making him a difficult matchup regardless of the opponent.

With both pitchers excelling at limiting traffic and hard contact, this game is well-positioned to have a scoreless first inning.

Brewers vs. Braves - Jacob Misiorowski vs. Martin Perez (7:15 PM EST)

The premier pitching matchup of the day takes place in Atlanta. Every time Jacob Misiorowksi takes the mound, it’s must-watch television.

Perez has quietly been one of the steadiest veterans in the National League. The left-hander owns a 2.90 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 62 innings while allowing only 44 hits. He may not rack up strikeouts at Misiorowski's pace, but he consistently keeps opponents from generating big innings.

Red Sox vs. Mariners - Ranger Suarez vs. Bryce Miller (10:10 PM EST)

It has been a nightmare season for the Red Sox and it will likely continue in Seattle.

• Pirates vs. Rockies - Bubba Chandler vs. Kyle Freeland: This is my favorite YRFI on the slate. Freeland enters with a 7.98 ERA and has allowed 84 hits and 14 home runs in just 58.2 innings, while Chandler has struggled with command throughout the season. With two vulnerable starters and Coors Field boosting offense, there's a strong chance a run crosses the plate in the first inning.
