Best NRFI Bets Today

Minnesota Twins vs Miami Marlins - Pablo Lopez (RHP) vs Jesus Luzardo (LHP)

Under 0.5 Runs (-148 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

Pablo Lopez will throw against his old team in the Miami Marlins on Wednesday afternoon. Lopez is a reputable starter that knows how to attack Marlins’ hitters, and this supports the NRFI. The Marlins' offense hasn’t been fantastic this season watching pitches. If Lopez locates early in counts, Miami has a lot of swing and miss in their lineup.

Jesus Luzardo will be on the mound for the Marlins, and he was fantastic in his first start of the season. Luzardo went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs and just two hits in the win. There were some signs of control issues, but the pitcher locked in whenever he found a little bit of trouble. This NRFI is slightly juiced at -148, but the pitchers are strong out of the gate, so we believe it’s worth risking more to make a worthwhile return in this spot.

New York Mets vs Milwaukee Brewers - David Peterson (LHP) vs Corbin Burnes (RHP)

Under 0.5 Runs (-132 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The New York Mets will look to get back on track and avoid a sweep versus the Brewers on Wednesday. However, this will be hard because they haven’t hit the ball and will face Corbin Burnes. Burnes has been one of the best pitchers in baseball since last season, with his electric fastball and tremendous offspeed arsenal. Burnes didn’t have a great showing in his first start of the season, but we like him to bounce back against a cold Mets lineup.
Burnes was an NRFI king last season, and we believe he will find this rhythm again in 2023. The one reason to be concerned with this NRFI is because of the Brewers' offense, which has been fantastic in this series. They’ve outscored New York 19-0 in the past two days, and multiple players are hitting the long ball, which are deadly for NRFI wagers.

Yet, David Peterson has the capability for a strong start against Milwaukee. Peterson isn’t overpowering, but he doesn’t walk a lot of batters. We like the NRFI in this afternoon contest if he keeps the ball down in the zone.

Los Angeles Angels vs Seattle Mariners - Shohei Ohtani (RHP) vs Chris Flexen (RHP)

Under 0.5 Runs (-130 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Los Angeles Angels have the best player on the planet taking the mound on Wednesday in Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani was fantastic in his first start of the season, striking out ten batters over six innings of work. This start has to be taken with a grain of salt as Ohtani faced the Oakland Athletics, who will compete for the worst record in baseball. Yet, the pitcher is known for his overpowering fastball and elite breaking ball. This will give the Mariners a lot of trouble in the series finale. Seattle is hitting just .188 on the season with a .256 on-base percentage. The top of the order hasn’t been good outside of Julio Rodriguez, who is one of the most dangerous hitters in the game.

Chris Flexen will pitch for Seattle, and he has to get through a tough top-of-the-order for Los Angeles. This group has shined with a few big swings, but they haven’t been consistent. Additionally, Anthony Rendon has been suspended for his interaction with a fan in Oakland, so that’s one less power bat at the top of the order. The one player to watch out for in this spot is Ohtani, so his at-bat will be the deciding factor for this bet. However, the wind will be blowing in, so it’s best to take the NRFI in this spot.
