Best NRFI Bets Today

Los Angeles Angels vs Chicago White Sox - Jaime Barria (RHP) vs Lance Lynn (RHP)

Over 0.5 Runs (-140 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Chicago White Sox are having a terrible season, and they should have a tough time getting the job done today against the Angels. Los Angeles will throw Jaime Barria, who is 1-2 with a 1.55 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP. Over 29 innings, he has only allowed 19 hits with two homers. Barria keeps the ball down in the zone and should limit the White Sox runs. However, Lance Lynn will take the ball for Chicago, which is one reason to go with a YRFI in the first inning.

Lynn is 4-5 with a 5.83 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP. Over 63.1 innings, he has allowed 68 hits with 72 strikeouts and 24 walks. Lynn has been very inconsistent, and it has led to early-inning runs. Additionally, the wind is blowing out in Chicago this afternoon, which is why the total is set at 9.5 runs. The Angels against Lynn with wind couldn’t be better for a YRFI because Los Angeles is a solid home-run-hitting team. They’ve blasted 73 bombs this season, so look for them to score early and often.

Atlanta Braves vs Oakland Athletics - Jared Shuster (LHP) vs James Kaprielian (RHP)

Over 0.5 Runs (-120 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Oakland Athletics have shocked the world over the past couple of days with two straight wins against the Braves. Atlanta is 32-23 with a 17-9 road record, and they’ve been bested two days in a row by the 12-45 Oakland Athletics. Look for the Braves to bounce back with a vengeance and put some runs on the board in the first few innings. Atlanta will face James Kaprielian, who is 0-5 with an 8.45 ERA and a 1.88 WHIP. Over 33 innings, he has allowed 41 hits with just 34 strikeouts. The Braves will be able to sit back and relax at the plate, which will lead to hits.

Jared Shuster will throw for Atlanta, and he hasn’t been much better than Kaprielian. Shuster is 1-2 with a 5.33 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP. Over 25.1 innings, he has walked 15 batters. If Shuster gives the Braves free passes, Oakland can convert on their opportunities. The team struggles to win games, but their offense is the best part of their game.

Cincinnati Reds vs Boston Red Sox - Luke Weaver (RHP) vs James Paxton (LHP)

Over 0.5 Runs Scored in First Inning (-138 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Boston Red Sox are one of the best offensive teams in MLB. They strike early and often, and many runs are scored along the way. Boston has gone 32-22 against the YRFI, and they should add an extra win to the record today. Luke Weaver is 1-2 with a 5.45 ERA with a 1.37 WHIP. Over 38 innings, he has allowed 43 hits with 37 strikeouts for the Reds. James Paxton will pitch for the Red Sox, and he is 1-1 with a 5.14 and a 1.36 WHIP. Over 14 innings, he has allowed four homers.

Both pitchers allow homers, which is why you should take the YRFI in this spot. Boston has a lot of pop at the top of their lineup, with 61 homers and a .334 team OBP. There were 17 runs scored in game one of the series, and we expect another shootout today. The total is set at 10.5, so bookmakers are banking on a lot of runs.
