Best NRFI Bets Today September 05 23

n the NRFI betting market in baseball, the pitching matchup for each game is so important. Tuesday’s Major League Baseball games are no exception, as there are multiple pitching matchups that could lead to NRFI bets hitting, and some others that could lead to some first inning scoring for at least one team involved.

Minnesota Twins vs Cleveland Guardians - Sonny Gray (R) vs Tanner Bibee (R)

Under 0.5 (-125 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

Our first MLB NRFI wager for Tuesday comes in the contest between the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians. In this AL Central matchup, look for a scoreless first inning to take place between the two teams. With a couple of excellent pitchers taking the mound to start this game, there is no reason to believe that either team will get off to a hot enough to start to push a run across the plate in the first.

For the Twins, it is Sonny Gray that is taking the mound for the Twins in this contest. Gray comes into this game with a record of just 7-6, but his 2.92 ERA for the year is stellar and a much better showcase of his talents. Look for Gray to come out and pitch exceptionally well here to help the Twins as they look to move a step closer to closing out the AL Central with a win.

However, the Guardians have a starting pitcher who is more than capable of shutting down opposing lineups himself in Tanner Bibee. Bibee is 10-3 on the year and has an ERA of 3.03 for a Guardians team that is below .500 even with his contributions on the season. It is clear that Bibee needs to carry the Guardians to victory on many nights, and he will get off to a strong start in this game regardless of the final outcome.

Houston Astros vs Texas Rangers - Framber Valdez (L) vs Nathan Eovaldi (R)

Under 0.5 (-120 at PointsBet)

In the Texas two-step between the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, look for another scoreless first inning to take place between the two teams. This is another game where the pitching matchup should offset any danger that the batting orders may pose early in the game. With everything on the line in this contest, we should see both pitchers sell out to help their teams in the early going.

Framber Valdez will get the ball to start this game for the Houston Astros, who is 10-9 with a 3.38 ERA. He is opposed by Nathan Eovaldi, who enters this matchup with a record of 11-3 and a 2.69 ERA. Both of these men were in the AL Cy Young conversation at one point or another during this MLB season, and they will prove why they received such consideration in a game as significant as this one.

If you look at the standings in the AL West right now, the Astros and Rangers are separated by a single game at the top of the division. WIth the Seattle Mariners tied with the Astros for first place, this game means just about everything for these two teams looking to make the playoffs. Because of that, we should see these star pitchers give it everything they have, at the expense of the opposing hitters in this contest.

Colorado Rockies vs Arizona Diamondbacks - Kyle Freeland (L) vs Brandon Pfaadt (R)

Over 0.5 (-125 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

We do have one first inning over worth wagering on during Tuesday’s MLB slate. That comes from the NL West matchup between the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks. With a pitching matchup that does not inspire confidence the way the other pitching matchups listed above do, we will expect some early offense from both of these teams in what could be an entertaining affair in Arizona.

Kyle Freeland and Brandon Pfaadt have both struggled over the course of this season. Freeland is 5-14 on the year with a 5.18 ERA, while Pfaadt is an even worse 1-7 with a 6.21 ERA. They have allowed a combined 45 home runs on the season, but no method of scoring should be taken off the table when these two struggling pitchers are on the mound for their respective teams.
