Best NRFI Bets Today September 20

Seattle Mariners vs Oakland Athletics - George Kirby (RHP) vs Joey Estes (RHP)

Under 0.5 Runs (-125 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Settle Mariners will conclude their series with the Oakland Athletics today, with the first pitch scheduled for 3:38 p.m. ET. The Mariners are clearly the better team coming into this game, as they’re listed at -240 on the moneyline. However, some quality side bets in this game are worth attacking, like the NRFI.

The NRFI is listed at -125, which is a fair price considering the Athletics have scored two total runs in two games. George Kirby will throw for the Mariners, and he should be lights out in this contest. The pitcher is 10-10 with a 3.57 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP.

Over 171.2 innings, he has recorded 163 hits with 18 walks. The primary Oakland could bust today’s NRFI bet is through walks, but Kirby has been very methodical with his pitch sequences in 2023. This has led to limited walks on the stat sheet.

Joey Estes will pitch for Oakland in his MLB debut. Betting on pitchers to deliver in their first start isn’t ideal, but it’s too good to resist in this case. Estes has recorded a 3.74 ERA in the minors this season with a 1.16 WHIP.

The Mariners should easily shut down the Athletics, but the sweat will come when Estes takes the bump to start the game. If we can get through the first three outs, this NRFI should come through in the bottom of the first.

Boston Red Sox vs Texas Rangers - Brayan Bello (RHP) vs Jon Gray (RHP)

Under 0.5 Runs (-111 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Boston Red Sox blew another late lead on Tuesday against the Rangers. It’s hard to bet on Boston because their pitching talent isn’t great, but they have their ace of the future on the mound today. Brayan Bello will take the ball for the Red Sox, and he has been fantastic in 2023.

Bello is 12-9 with a 3.71 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. Over 148 innings, he has 127 strikeouts, and his K/9 rate has improved since entering the league. Bello has the talent to manipulate the Rangers offense on Tuesday, especially in a midweek daytime start.

Offensively, Boston has one of the biggest home-road drop-offs in the league. They can hit at Fenway but struggle on the road, which is perfect for an NRFI on Wednesday. Jon Gray will take the ball for the Rangers, and he is 8-8 with a 4.05 ERA and a 1.3 WHIP on the season.

Both offenses have explosive hitters at the top of the order, but we trust these two players to get started well on the mound and deliver six outs.

San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks - Logan Webb (RHP) vs Merrill Kelly (RHP)

Under 0.5 Runs (-130 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks have the best NRFI matchup of the day. There are two quality pitchers on the mound in a midweek getaway game.

Logan Webb will pitch for San Francisco, and he has been fantastic this season. He is 10-12 with a 3.31 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP.

Webb’s numbers combined with a 10-12 record is a good sign for NRFI bets. He puts up big numbers, but the offense never supports the pitcher. San Francisco wins with homers, but these don’t come easy, and they won’t on Wednesday against Merrill Kelly.

Kelly is 11-7 with a 3.45 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. Over 159 innings, he has allowed just 131 hits with 172 strikeouts. Walks have been a major issue for Kelly, but if he can contain the free passes, we will get six outs in this contest.
