The Chicago Cubs' poor start to the season now seems like a distant memory. The return of Seiya Suzuki is a big reason for the turnaround, with the former JPCL star bringing a level of power and consistency the lineup had been missing. Below, we’ll share why we like the Cubs’ slugger to go deep again today, along with two other home run prop bets we love.

Since returning from injury on April 10, Seiya Suzuki has helped the Cubs overcome a slow start and start charging up the standings. The 31-year-old is batting .328 with five home runs since then, and he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. We know his hot streak won’t last, but there is plenty of reason to believe it will continue into today.
One reason for that is Diamondbacks starter Ryne Nelson (1-2, 7.71 ERA, 1.52 WHIP), who will be on the mound this afternoon. After breaking out last season, the righty has had a rough start to 2026. Things have been especially bad of late, with Nelson lasting a combined 5 ⅓ innings and allowing a whopping 14 earned runs. He also allowed a pair of home runs during a brutal pair of starts.
Even during Nelson’s impressive 2025 campaign, he did not fare well in starting day games. That has continued, though his first two days of this season have seen him post a 12.27 ERA and .394 OBA.
The last time Nelson started at Wrigley Field was last year, and it didn’t last long. He was pulled in the first innings after allowing five earned runs while only recording two outs.

Today’s matchup between the Cardinals and Dodgers will feature two of the most promising young stars in the league.
On one side is Jordan Walker, who is batting .284 and leads the team with nine home runs. While he cooled down in the second half of April, he snapped out of it against the Pirates earlier this week, going 5-14 with a home run and seven RBIs over the final three games of the series. It’s hard to know how much of the 23-year-old’s hot start is real, but there are other reasons to back him to go deep tonight.
On the other side of this matchup will be the Dodgers’ starter, Roki Sasaki (1-2, 6.35 ERA, 1.81 WHIP). The 24-year-old was the team’s top prospect, but has failed to find success at the MLB level over 13 starts. Not only is he allowing far too many baserunners, but he’s also giving up home runs.
Over four starts last month, he allowed seven home runs over 18 ⅔ innings.
With Walker swinging a hot bat, we believe he will get the better of Sasaki tonight.

The price on this bet is what draws us to take the chance. The 2023 NL MVP has spent significant time on the IL over the last two seasons, which can be blamed for his slow start to this season.
We don’t expect Acuna to recapture his magic from his MVP season, but we did see his power last season. He hit 21 home runs over 95 games, thanks largely to getting hot in August. We saw him remind us that he’s hit 40+ home runs twice over his career, which is why we're expecting him to start flashing some power.
Another reason to back Acuna to hit a home run is the hitter-friendly Coors Field. While all batters get a boost, the Braves' star has been especially great in Denver over his career. Over 44 at-bats, he owns a .432 average with four home runs.
